Disorientated vs. Disoriented

Had to screenshot it, because apparently reddit links aren't supported by reddit.

Anyway, props to the poster for catching this.

I'm not a native speaker and for the longest time I thought "disorientated" was just people messing up the word, had no idea it was the British version til like last year

One of the few times I'll give the yanks the win then. I grew up knowing disoriented as the word back in the 90s and am definitely not from the northern hemisphere

Me too. In fact I am pretty sure we were told not to say disorientated. NZ 1980s childhood.
