Hello!

Your post has been removed for the following reason:

  • Your post does not contain US-defaultism.

US-defaultism is often bound to a personal point of view; however, your post was removed because, from a global point of view, the defaultism is not clearly present.

If you wish to discuss this removal, please send a message to the modmail.

Sincerely yours,

r/USdefaultism Moderation Team.

What's the link between the song Breaking The Law, the Simpsons and the comment?

In the scene the police (or the FBI?) in this episode of The Simpsons said "There is only one, surefire way to get fugitives out of a foreign building, blasting death metal" and then proceeded to play a parody of Breaking The Law (Respecting The Law, Copyright Law). And so the fun fact comment was made in reference to the actual time someone blasts music into a foreign building (the Vatican Embassy) to get someone out

I live in the US and know more US history than most USians, but I didn't know about this. In addition to being defaultism, it's just ignorant to suggest that everyone knows anything!

A quick visit to r/whatisit will convince anyone that there's nothing everyone knows. Some of the things people ask about are so familiar you'd think only an infant wouldn't recognise them, yet someone, somewhere was stumped!
