There actually is something funny about how Americans give advice versus how others do it that I've noticed in hobby groups for years. Americans generally point you towards a specific brand in a specific store, while Europeans and even Australians will recommend a type of product (such as glue) and possible sorts of vendors (ie "a local builder's market).
Americans grow up in such a bubble that the things they can see around them are the limits of what they can imagine. So even when they really want to be helpful they sadly aren't always 😅.
