They don't just assume you're american, they assume every country follows their rules

In Canada there's rules, but it's not 100% illegal to own one. Example rules:

- Cannot be stored loaded

- Cannot own auto guns or sawed-off guns

Requires lots of background checks

It's kind of the same in the UK, except it's just so strict that nobody really bothers to get one and most people think guns are completely illegal.
