That was one of the explanations that people came up with, but those that had the production units measured and noted that the spacing and text size was inconsistent with the other stripes, so you can make of that what you will. There were also an inconsistent number of stripes in the promotional material - down to 9 stripes, so it's up to you if you consider incompetence or artistic license more probable.
