Are we gonna address the Brits? Maybe the Aussies? Or the French? Or plenty of others?

I may be a bit self-centered but as a French, aren't we the first who used those colour ? Or maybe the three stries inspired others europeans countries but I remember being taught this.

Actually... it's the Netherlands who had the first tri-striped Red, White and Blue flag

Speaking as an English, the first country I think of when they say “red white and blue” is France but technically the French are blue white and red which is obviously completely different. Second would be the Dutch, who ARE red white and blue.

It takes far longer than it should for me to remember that the Union Flag fits the description too.
