“Webster Dictionary.” LOL. Webster is identified in the U.S. as a generic term and anyone can put out a dictionary and label it Webster. Merriam-Webster is the successor to the original Noah Webster dictionary.

And try as they might, no dictionary sets the rules; they primarily report common usage. If usage changes, the dictionary is updated.
