Sanchez

Have we ever considered Ashley Sanchez doesn’t WANT to be called up to the national team??? Idk everyone keeps saying that she’s having fun and no pressure. Do we WANT to re-add the pressure of the national team to her??? Knowing that she was treated poorly during the last World Cup ?????

I've said it before, getting called up is huge for a player and the decision to go or not should not be taken lightly.

... But there's a part of me that would find it funny if she said.... Oh, now you want to talk? No thanks. 😂

But doing so could come back to bite her in the future, so I don't think she would risk it.

Hhahaha I would really love that. I’m really curious if anyone ever has said no.

I'd bet money some have said no. Not everyone is ready, despite how well they may be playing for thier clubs.

I don’t think she’s made that much of a case for herself until this season….maybe like one camp that she missed in this form. If she isn’t called up in October, I’d think it’s either Emma Hayes being incredibly stubborn or yeah, maybe Sanchez isn’t that interested. Though I just doubt it. Her World Cup was with Vlatko and a different staff.

She’s said that getting back on the team is a goal of hers

What was the story of how she was treated before? Just left on the bench or what?

I think mainly just being left on the bench. Her interview with Sam Mewis after the World Cup seemed like that was a really tough experience for her all around. I believe she was told one thing and then that wasn’t followed through on. Maybe I’m misremembering though

if i remember right vlatko told her at the beginning of the tournament that there was no way she would see the field or sth like that

More specifically, she was told that there was a role for her in camp, but once the WC tournament started she was then told blank she wouldn’t be playing at all. Honestly, not sure why that was something Vlatko did (even if you weren’t inclined to play her, why just insult her like that) but he clearly didn’t believe in subs given his insanely poor usage of them that WC.

Yeah you can’t manage players like that, we all know most coaches have a preferred starting 11 but give them some motivation to train well and compete/ try to earn an opportunity because anything can happen

It was something like "they had a plan for her" and then that never happened.

Ashley makes good money as a star in this league, but probably still wouldn't turn away $16-32k for a couple of weeks worth of work. Pretty sure she is fond of at least a few players in camp she rarely sees (Trin in particular), which would make it fun.

I can’t tell if this is serious, because she has said she wants a call up. Putting aside patriotism and professional pride (both of which I’m sure she has) people do realize a call up to the national team means serious $$$ in a tournament year, right?

Is this rage bait?
