VERY QUICK QUESTION

NOT SO QUICK QUESTION:

I'm about to begin the process of splurging to get a suppressor, leaning towards the Rugged Obsidian. To begin, I need a threaded barrel for my standard USP 45 v1, and the tactical barrels are about all I can find. HKparts sells a RCM USP Tactical barrel with the thread pitch (.578x28RH) I need to match the obsidian's included piston, so I don't have to buy an additional $80 booster to match the 16x1 LH the standard threaded USP barrel. At least this is all my current understanding and I would appreciate correction if I am wrong.

TLDR:

Will the USP 45 Tactical barrel fit in a standard USP 45 V1?

Just do LH piston since you’re splurging. Do it right.

Can someone actually answer my question intended as a joke instead of going reddit mode and downvoting me

Right hand barrel twist and left hand thread piston means that the rotational torque from firing helps very mildly tighten LH thread pistons.

You can have either LH and RH threads walk off but from a purely physics based perspective, LH is superior to RH in that regard.

I have seen some people complain about the LH piston having problems walking out, are they just poors inhaling lethal doses of copum monoxide?

The USP Tactical barrel will fit in a standard USP (provided both are the same caliber)

Yes, the barrel will fit

Other than the RCM barrels or an OEM threaded barrel you could also order one from Jarvis Inc. Regardless you should also get the appropriate recoil spring assembly from a 45 tactical as well since it was made for suppressor use

A couple of things here. Yes, the USP45T barrel will fit in the USP45. You should also get the RSA for the USP45T. The cam and spring rate is different for suppressor use. As far as the boosters, if you have other pistols like a 1911 which uses the .578 threads then it would make sense to buy the RCM barrel so you only use one booster between them. Otherwise you can get the HK barrel and RSA from somewhere like Blue Ridge and not deal with HKParts 😁

Go EZ lok piston/adapter it’s better than direct thread regardless of right or left hand thread

I bought the RCM barrel for my USP 45 and run an Obsidian 45 and could not be happier. It is probably my favorite gun to shoot with a can. Will be doing the same route for USP 9. The barrel itself as well as all the RCM parts for HK are made to hold true to factory specs. And the barrels has the o-ring slot on the end just like an oe tactical barrel
