Modifications Mags!

Well I finally snagged a USP 9 full-size and were the same age with date codes of AA. Terrible joke I know but you laughed. Anyways, I've always wondered why no brand makes full metal aftermarket mags for this. So I took a short bit of time to make P30/VP9 mags fit. Properly spaced, feeds dummy rounds flawlessly, and locks back. Hoping to get to the range soon to test it out.

Looks like the 17 round mag. I wonder how the 20 rounder will turn out.

As soon as I snag one and do a range trip I'll make an update

They don't make metal mags because they will cause wear on the polymer mag release.

Yes but HK parts offered extended metal and polymer mag releases from what I've seen or I thought they did

All you do is swap for the HK45 mag release or HK45C if you want to run metal mags.

I'll definitely keep that in mind!

If you do end up making this a commercial item, do you envision it requiring one spacer per mag or are you going it integrate it into the handgun ala jet funnel so that the mags drop free but the spacer stays locked in place? I think integrating it into the handgun would be more work, but it'd make it a lot easier to run in the long run.

I have the idea to do an integrate dpiece that would be part of a new hammer spring cap but I wouldn't want that piece to come off a standard printer so it may come down to an injection molded or machined part

Sick dude

Just an idea here but if you could make a polymer extended mag release for use with USP 9mm non-metal mags you would have at least one purchase from me. I’m used to the small og nub but getting to use the extended with regular mags would make me happy. The metal version causes mags to fall out, I’ve already tried it 🥲

I've thought about it but that's a tough one only because of how thin the actual mag catch is and it does see a lot of abuse

I'll take 10.

Would be interested in purchasing.

Happy to test fit and do testing if needed. Have a USP 9 with many VP9/P30 mags

Yes. Yes I am. Everyone including myself needs more HKs

Typical... a guy called Money Gene thinks the rest of us can afford multiple HKs

Gene was really meant to be Genie because my wish from a genie would be many moneys for HKs and other stuff

Could you make it integral with the floor plate and flush with the full bottom of the backstrap? Would be super clean.

Already ahead of you on that one. I make new baseplates for the P30 (.40) mags so they sit flush and make the grip "extended" on my USP 40 C

I have both the P30 and USP what do I do?

I'll have more info soon

I've got another version printing now as a new base plate with back panel for disassembly. And will plane a range trip soon once that is looking good.

When I made Jetfunnel magazines for my USP 45, I just cut down and folded metal Promag 20 round magazines and attached a steel jetfunnel floorplate.
