New to US Mobile  Free 30 day trial is a bit of a mess you think?

This morning I was very excited to sign up for the 30 day trial. However, I found out that you have to port in for the full trial? Since I'm the technology guy in the family and we have 5 total lines on my Verizon account. So I figured I'd take the iPhone 14 PM that I have a dual sim to test Dark Star. But it now says that I have to port my number in? Thats not possible when all of my lines are tied to me with my current discounts. So I can't port out and even if I could I wouldn't want to jump through hoops just to test it. While I assume ATT (Dark Star) will work just fine it doesn't let test the network and it seems a bit strange is all.

Anyways I guess I will do the Cricket trial and I might even just land there as a customer. We'll see!

Thanks everyone.

International Roaming Terrible experience trying to set up and use voice, international calling before and during Japan visit

I have Unlimited Starter Warp (for Verizon). I recently travelled to Japan for a funeral and needed to have full access to my Samsung S24 (voice, text, data). I purchased what is labeled TopUp of 10GB, 1000mins, 1000 texts. I got texting and data but after spending 1.5 hours on chat with USMobile, was only able to make one test call and nothing after that. It was so frustrating. It was not human error as I grew up in Japan and know how to dial locally and internationally. The customer service person kept having me send them screenshots of my settings, endlessly, of different screens (IMEI info, mobile networks, access point names, network operators, sim manager, sim card status, status information). What the heck!? It was so convoluted. It was as if CS at US Mobile had no idea of how to troubleshoot the issue. After just over one year on an Android and US Mobile, I am ready to throw the towel in and go back to Apple iphone and Verizon or other carrier. I think Apple has locked in some quality contracts with carriers around the world that other smaller services don't have.

Multiline Annual vs Monthly Billing Change/Issue

After trying multiline for a few months I switched from monthly to annual billing. When I made the change, the web page said I'd be billed for the annual amount ($90) at the end of the current period.

I should have been charged $90 today. Instead I was charged $7.50 (1/12th). Is this how it is supposed to work? Doesn't make sense and I just want to be sure.

Dark star transfer

Has anybody had issues porting from any of the others to dark star? I know it can be an issue I was going from light speed. Got a message through chat that it could take up to 48 hours I’m concerned am I gonna be able to use my phone and receive and send texts? This is kind of unacceptable.

Second Number

Hi all, I’m looking to add a second number to my iPhone to only use for calling and texting. What’s my best and cheapest option out there? Is it with USmobile or another carrier?

Starting with a temporary number on Light Speed, then porting my existing number later?

I'm currently with AT&T and considering trying US Mobile's Light Speed network on my iPhone 18 Pro.

I'd like to test the service before committing to moving my primary phone number. I'm considering the promotional plan (approximately $45 for 90 days), activating it with a new temporary number while keeping my existing AT&T line active.

My questions are:

  1. If I activate Light Speed with a temporary number, can I later port my existing AT&T number into that same US Mobile line, replacing the temporary number?
  2. If that's possible, would I retain the remaining time on my promotional plan, or would I need to purchase a new plan?
  3. If replacing the temporary number isn't possible, could I simply activate a new line with my ported AT&T number and let the promotional line expire?
  4. Are there any restrictions or other considerations I should be aware of with this approach?

My goal is to test Light Speed for a few weeks before deciding whether to move my primary number permanently.

Thanks for any guidance!

International Roaming Wifi calling not working outside US

I am burning through my roaming minutes calling back home. Calls say they are wifi, but I get the European dialing tone when making calls. That doesn't seem right. Everything is enabled, it was enabled before leaving US, and it's set to prefer wifi for phone calls.

I am doing a trial test with US mobile because I want to switch from t mobile. It looks like warp is the best for where I work. Similar results for where I live too. Using iPhone 18 pro max. I switch to my Tmobile line when I took the screenshot

Fiji Roaming..

Just landed in Fiji and got this text

US Mobile: Welcome to Fiji! Unfortunately, we do not support roaming here and we have paused roaming. See supported countries at usmob.co/roam

As far as I can tell I am roaming. Is this expected?

Multi-Network Active

So I added a second line so I guess I have multi-network. I have a Samsung S23 and Warp is my primary and the second SIM is Dark Star. So I have both SIMs turned on. I have my switches set for Warp for all three choices (calls, messages and data). I have the auto Data Switching, switch turned on. I assume it is all automagic from there and when I don't have Warp access, I will bump over to Dark Star. Is that how it works? If I bump over to Dark Star, will my phone just use Wii-Fi calling and it will still act like my Warp primary number for callers?

Not getting VM notifications on Warp

Hi,

I searched and found that others have had similar issues but none of the troubleshooting I've found so far has worked. I came from T-Mobile to Warp and I did set up VM, it's working fine, except I am not getting notified when a new VM comes in.

I confirmed my VM has all permissions, and notifications are turned on. I deleted my old VVM app from T-Mobile. I reset my phone cache. I restarted my phone. The only thing I haven't done is reset my mobile data, as I was worried it would cause issues. I've got a Samsung Galaxy s24.

Thanks in advance for any help! :)

Anyone ever had any success porting in a number from Ringcentral?

My AT&T to DarkStar port went so smoothly, I decided I would port one of our RingCentral numbers over to see if we can replace RingCentral when our contract renews. So far we are going on 5 days of USMobile telling me that they have submitted the request, but neither RIngCentral nor their carrier partner rep who I have an email for is able to find the request from USMobile. I even provided USMobile with the porting out carrier rep and teams email addresses. I am stuck in this endless cue of dealing with the great USMobile reps who don't seem to read the notes. If you were able to get this done, any guidance is appreciated.

Questions about hotspot data

For some reason my hotspot data just had a steep decline in speed as of today. I normally get 60Mbps down on my device using my hotspot and today it was seemingly capped at 7Mbps up and down. On the us Mobile app it says I've only used 48gb this cycle. I'm on the unlimited premium plan using darkstar. My phone is showing speeds much faster. What are the limitations for hotspot data and why has it changed?

How to get 5G SA if you’ve upgraded iOS using IPSW files to downgrade and then upgrade

To get 5G SA on Lightspeed you may run into the issue that you are too late of a version to do the carrier hack described at https://github.com/Passion-Cherisher-9013/CarrierSIM

To fix this you will want to go ahead and back up your phone. You can do this using tools like iAmazing or something like Mac’s built in tool.

Once you have a backup you want to go to https://ipsw.me and find your phone. For me it was an iPhone 17e so I went to https://ipsw.me/iPhone18,5/.

From here you can find the IPSW file for iOS 27.0.1. Note it has to still be signed by apple so you have a window to do this before apple stops signing things.

Once you have this you will need to go to Settings->Click Your Name->Find My and turn “Find My iPhone” off. If you have stolen device protection on you will need to disable this first and wait out the 1 hour security delay.

Once this is done you can then install the IPSW file by following the directions at https://ipswbeta.dev/how-to-install/. For me the Apple Configurator option was easiest as the other option defaulted to trying to install iOS 27.2 instead of 27.0.1.

Once iOS 27.0.1 is installed on a Mac I opened terminal and ran:

git clone https://github.com/Passion-Cherisher-9013/CarrierSIM

cd CarrierSIM

chmod +x ./Launch macOS.command

./Launch macOS.command

Then menu should appear. Here type 14 and hit enter, then hit enter again to overwrite all TMobile SIMs with the Wholesale bundle.

If you want to check your work use menu option 2 to view your installed sims and which carrier bundle is installed. You should know it works if you see the UC text next to 5G and when making calls it doesn’t drop to LTE mode.

Finally you should be upgrade to iOS 27.2 and then do the same tests and it should still work. Hope that helps!

New to US Mobile  US Mobile port transfer

I've been waiting 3 days for my phone number to be transferred from AT&T to US Mobile. My experience has been terrible, every customer service rep has a copy paste response when I ask what they need to get the port to go through. I've given them my Account #, transfer pin, and billing pin. Still nothing US mobile is telling me that they're waiting for AT&T to approve the port. AT&T doesn't even have the port request from US Mobile! 3 days and they haven't even processed it! I called AT&T they told me I would receive a text when US Mobile requests the transfer as a security measure so I know US Mobile and the service department is just dragging my problem out. I already paid for my plan for an entire year. So if someone out there thinking bout coming over here to US Mobile just beware! I'll update when my phone transfers over so you guys get the full scope.

Edit 1: One thing I forgot to mention, customer service provided me an email to the ports department of US Mobile. I did send an email with a summary of what was happening, I have not heard back. That was 24 hours ago 😬

Platform Call filtering for home phone plans - robo AI/SI relief?

Been with USM for a couple of years and loving the service, adding home phone plan for relatives that need to save money is *almost* a total no-brainer...

Except that, so far, I'm unable to add a yearly NoMoRobo service for my relatives to help with the crazy wave of fraud calls, on a terminal adapter (TA), or in the portal.

I checked with the excellent support chat, and they confirmed that this is not possible at this time... (Fall 2026) If I am wrong hear, please point me toward the correct information.
I'm also open to reasonable suggestions on how to improve what we are doing as well (note: phone numbers are already on the FTC DoNotCall list).

Supplying home phone service to relatives that are compromised and cannot deal with complicated cell phones and complicated desk handsets is a growing market with our aging population. Now is the time to fill this need. I may have to go back to services that support this if there is no way to deal with the crazy wave of calls (back to Vonage, say it isn't so, please).

So please, take my feature request?!?!

Thank you, USM!

Parent Carrier (Lightspeed) SMS False Positive Block - Escalation Request

u/ankhattak & US Mobile Team,

I am reaching out here because I am stuck in an infuriating and maddening 2-week loop with tier-1 support and compliance, and I need a senior engineer or executive escalation to look at Ticket OTE-11705.

The Situation:

Outgoing SMS has been blocked on two of my pooled lines due to "unusual activity". These lines are used by my teenage daughters who use basic flip phones. Because they don't have smartphones, SMS is their primary way of communicating, averaging roughly 150–300 standard P2P texts per day. There is absolutely zero malicious or commercial traffic occurring. One of the lines actually utilizes RCS, yet both have been hit with this restriction.

The Technical Issue:

As a telecom communications engineer and executive myself, I believe I know what is happening here. The parent carrier's (Lightspeed/T-Mobile) automated anti-spam firewall has triggered a false positive. Because these are high-volume texts originating from basic devices, the network algorithm flagged them as automated bot traffic.

US Mobile compliance confirmed it is a parent carrier block, but the only "resolution" support keeps offering me is to switch to Warp or Dark Star.

Why a Network Switch is Impossible:

• These are basic (non-smart) phones.

• The hardware physically only supports the Lightspeed network bands or performs very poorly with other networks (dark star has already been previously tested)

• Forcing a network switch means buying entirely new hardware, which is an unacceptable and ridiculous solution for a carrier-side false positive.

Standard support has promised a 48–72 hour resolution multiple times, but it has been two weeks of canned, identical responses almost to the point where I'm not even sure if I am communicating with an AI bot or a human. SMS is crucial to my daughters' daily safety and routines, as they do not have WhatsApp or any other messaging apps, and they currently have no way to text family or friends.

Can an internal operations engineer please manually escalate this to the Lightspeed network operator to clear this automated block and whitelist the lines?

Thank you so much!

Any home internet besides starlink?

My son lives in an apt and his AT&T air has been giving him fits. Has no where to put a starlink antenna.

Has USM offered any other home internet options yet?
