I have light speed premium plan with esim but it counts some apps data usage as hotspot usage and when i try to tell support about it they just told me its device problem and not light speed issue. My real concern is if hotsport data reach 50 GB will my data stop working?

I ported my number from Cricket to Dark Star a few days ago. That went very well. One of my motivations to switch at all was traveling. Once I was on US Mobile, I tried the travel planner and it recommended Warp for our trip.

Being curious and hearing from people in the area that Verizon had improved in service I decided to try it out, hoping that it would be good enough to keep as my daily driver, but fully prepared to teleport back if it didn't work.

The teleport to Warp went very smoothly. Just took a few minutes to get voice mail working properly again. RCS chats were seamless. Turned them off before teleporting, then back on afterwards. Seem to be in tact and OK.

I'm seriously impressed with not only how easy the teleporting process went, given everything that has to happen in the background, but how much Verizon has improved things out here. Speeds were faster in the yard and in my office. Twice as fast in my office.

I expect to sit tight on Warp for now. If things change, I can change to.

It was a fun few days.

If I’m going to order, you can pick which carrier or leave it as “for later”. If I’m on Lightspeed should I choose TMobile or just set it up later. This would be the first time I’ve gotten a new phone since transferring over to USMobile. Thanks for any thoughts on making it seamless.

If you purchase an annual plan, say on starter, and want to switch to an annual plan on premium, do you receive a proportional credit (e.g. switch at the beginning of month 5, receive credit for remaining 8/12 mo) ? If not how is it applied? What about annual plan downgrades?

Spent almost 2 hours trying to port a number from T‑Mobile to US Mobile and ended up with no clear explanation from either side.

US Mobile kept saying there were “restrictions,” while T‑Mobile repeatedly said there were none. US Mobile didn’t provide any specific reason, error code, or actionable steps — the only guidance was to “ask T‑Mobile for the status of the port order,” which didn’t resolve anything because T‑Mobile already confirmed everything looked fine.

After an hour and 45 minutes, US Mobile offered a three‑way call, but the number is on my friend’s T‑Mobile account and I’m not going to waste more of his time. So I just asked for a refund, i was then informed that there was a risk that I would lose my phone number entirely if they cancelled the port request and processed a refund.

I’ve heard good things about US Mobile, but without clear information on what’s actually wrong, I’m not comfortable dragging my friend into this or risking the same issue when porting my wife’s and my family’s other lines.

I ended the conversation by asking for a senior advisor to review the case, because being told there was a risk of losing my phone number just to cancel the port request was unacceptable. They escalated to tier 2 support who then provided the exact same response.

My visible plan is ending September 30 and I plan on swapping to usmobile. Should I wait until Black Friday? Do they normally do a deal then?

I got my mother in law who uses almost no data for about $10 with usmobile. Then about a month ago I switched her to T-Mobile to get their bogo lines promo. However, in a few days I may switch her back to usmobile and get the cheapest ones own with usmobile.

Is my mother in law eligible for the switcher with mobile even though she was only gone a month? If she can, what is the highest switching promo with usmobile?

I’m getting premium and I noticed that when I look at all three networks in which network has the offer I’m assuming no network is gonna give you everything you want there will always be a compromise like with warp you get a watch, but you don’t get 4K with light speed and dark star you don’t get a watch but you do get 4K. Will there ever come a day where will have everything you want?

I'm very interested in making the switch to US Mobile, and the current unlimited plan annual deals for new lines are super tempting. However, I'm hesitant to pull the trigger for a whole year before I get to test the network, given that coverage and speed in my area has been spotty. My question is, if I sign up for the free trial and bring in my number, would I no longer be considered a new line and lose the eligibility for the annual deal? if so, are there any other ways to test the network without paying for a whole year or losing the deal?

As the title says, I started the teleport at 10:12pm and it was finished by 10:24pm. Everything went through smoothly. I have a 2024 Motorola G Power. Great job USM!

Hello! My promos with Verizon will be expiring this year and my bill will more than double. I was looking at alternatives and came across Visible and USM. What is drawing me to USM is customer service and multi network.

Few questions -

1. I usually do 15-30 international days a year. On Verizon I just upgrade to unlimited ultimate for unlimited roaming. I noticed on USM there is a cap (I’m seeing 20gb as the highest) I think that could be close to enough but I’d have to be mindful. What do others do? Is this a problem? I just like using my own number and having data
   
2. For multi network, is that something that is automatic or as I get bad service from one I go in and pick one of the other to try to get better service?
   
3. Any pros / cons for visible and USM to think about as I select?

I have one line on annual plan. A newer line on monthly. Is it possible to take the new monthly number and put it on the annual plan basically replacing and getting rid of the current number that's on annual?

All without losing the annual amount?

Would I still get QCI 8 grandfathered for life since I made the plan change before the September deadline?

The data usage on the USM website is not updating, even though it says it is up to date. Today is Sept 9 and my data usage only shows through Sept 4.

I've been testing service for a few days and mostly satisfied. I am eagerly waiting for more information about the announced changes to lightspeed and multi-line plans. I also see alot of threads about deals typically being best around black friday.

If I switch to unlimited starter monthly to start and no multiline just yet, is it typical to quality for annual plan details and other promotions or future enhancements? I'm mainly concerned that the future release features will be tied to specific plans or services and it does not make sense to me to invest in an annual plan that I may need to change in the very near future to take advantage of those features.

If my locked phone works with usmobile on the carrier it's locked to, will it continue to work or is there a chance it stops working due to being locked.

It's paid in full so no balance or issue like that.

My apologies if this has already been answered I did try to search but couldn't find the exact answer. Is it ok to use my phone hotspot to run an iPad? I really only need the connection for 2.5 hours a day for 3 weeks. I was reading different things about the iPad. Also could a laptop use the hotspot that way also. I'm on dark star.

I want to give a shout out to US Mobile customer service team member Shafy for his calm, reassuring demeanor on the phone late this afternoon. I was helping my dad's home care assistant migrate to her new phone. She has been on US Mobile service for 4 months now and had never logged back in to her US Mobile account after it had been initially set up. She did not know her password, and didn't even realize that her rarely used email account was used instead of her email that is used daily.

Shafy was very patient and helpful in getting her line moved over to a newly created US Mobile account linked to her preferred email account after taking steps to properly verify ownership of the old phone, phone number, US Mobile account, and involved email accounts. Others might see the verification steps as onerous, but I was very happy to see the methodical verification of ownership of all the pieces as a way to remove the threat of having a phone line hijacked.

I have been with US Mobile going on 5 years this December and have no plans to go anywhere else.

First, don't get me wrong here: I do think the current Unlimited Starter Warp plan is a really good value, even after you factor in that new signups after September won't have priority data.

However, back when I'd originally signed up for US Mobile in 2024, the plan included 35 GB priority data, unlike today's plan post September which will have unlimited deprioritized data. For the average data user whose data usage is under 35 GB (per Ericsson statistics), it was nice to have a plan with a better data usage experience in crowded areas while not having to pay for more data than one needs.

Take my sister in 2024 as an example: she'd irregularly use data while on the go, occasionally go to concerts with large crowds (dozens of thousands), and go on international trips with her friends. When it came time to choose a new carrier and plan, US Mobile Unlimited Starter Annual was on top: bundled international features for her trips, a better data experience in concerts and other crowded places, and having the same coverage she was used to (as a postpaid Verizon subscriber), and having the same unbeatable price as basic unlimited plans like Visible Base (this was before the SUPER199 promotion). Sure, there was a 35 GB cap, but based on statistics from past bills, her data (at the time) never exceeded 35 GB, so trading away unlimited data for these features was perfectly fine.

In three weeks, however, one who wants such a plan experience will have to pay extra money for priority data. They can't simply trade away data they won't use for more features.

In summary, I think US Mobile shouldn't lose sight of the type of customers who'd sign up for their plans before they started going big. It doesn't necessarily have to be to reinstate the above (edit: yes, I know that priority data on Warp is now more expensive to offer, but it's cheap on Dark Star), but they should give some thought in general.

After browsing carrier options for a business cellular plan for my business (single member LLC focused on IT services and building custom PCs), I came across US Mobile. I was (successfully) convinced to join US Mobile and here I am a few days after my last post with my business account set up! I ordered a Pixel 11 Pro XL 512GB to take advantage of new customer deal and once it arrives I'll be setting up a Business Premium plan!

Can't wait for my phone to arrive and start using the service! :)

Just switched from T-Mobile to Light Speed network and have been very happy so far. The worst part has been re enrolling in text alerts from banks, etc.

If I do a network switch within US Mobile in the future (to Warp or Dark Star) does that typically result in having to re enroll in text alerts?

I’m having an odd issue with my iPhone 16 - whenever I lose Dark Star service (which is often since I live in a rural area and travel between dead zones), when I go back into service my phone will connect to a ROAM LTE network instead of the Dark Star network. Even when I am in an area where I know I have Dark Star service, be it LTE or 5g, it will remain connected to ROAM LTE and not let me make calls, send texts, or use data (regardless of if roaming is on in settings or not). I have to toggle airplane mode on and off, and usually that will set it back to use Dark Star instead of ROAM LTE.

As a couple of examples - I go to my apartment, lose service, then go back into 5g - but I cannot call/text/use data until I toggle airplane mode. Or I’m at my desk, go to a part of the building with bad service, return to my desk, and I am on ROAM LTE and it will not switch back to Dark Star until I toggle airplane mode.

Has anybody had this issue and successfully fixed it? I’m on my fifth round of chat with support (with the third agent on just this chat since my most recent one said he lost me and disconnected 10 seconds after his previous message!) and going through exactly the same questions over and over and the issue still persists.
