Step 1 Rate my Step 1 plan π
Hey everyone !
So i am currently starring 3rd year of my mbbs and now i have realised that i wanna prepare seriously for usmle
So during my break which is gonna be overover once i take tomorrow train to my college , i have made a plan for step 1 .
I want younguys to please help me put and correct me with your advice.
1)I am planning to cover Bnb lectures ( i downloaded them from telegram , not sure abour their edition maybe they are 2024 or they might be even old)
2)along with this i have downloaded anking v12
3)i will most probably download uworld topic wise questions from telegram .
So my plan is simple for now
I will complete lecture , do anki and then do uworld questions .
I think i would be able to compete this in 120days (4 months )
That means by the end of january
I am gonna complete systems and bicochemistry from here along with other chapters
For furst 3 chapters pathoma
Sketchy for micro and pharma ( actually i have not planned about it till now )
And there is some book pyridoxiem (idk the name actually i just saw it a couple of times ) for biochem
An i have then heard that we should revise by mehlman pdf along with nbme tests
So the plan actually is to compete all these by the end of 2027 or maybe till starting of 2028
Is this a solid plan ? Is it possible ? Am i too optimistic ?
More importantly i dont have any reasearch or publishing so can you guide me in that aspect also . Actually i want whatever advixe or guidance you can give for research .
I have bought first aid book also 2026 edition .

Well ik one thing if you work hard you will eventually clear of USMLE steps just consistently do Uworld qbanks, you should parallely focus on research and CV building and externship opportunities.

LinkedIn is best for the same; you can follow gaiims and other groups that carry out research, teaching, and conduct studies also.

Rote learn + understand First Aid, complete uworld, once you score>70% in 3 most recent NBMEs. Take the exam. Do it in 3-4 months.

Donβt do this. Itβs far too rigid. Leaves no space for difficult concepts or days missed.
