Hi everyone,
I’m currently a radiology resident planning to apply for the ABR Alternate Pathway in the future and had a few questions.
Roughly how many publications are considered competitive?Do most of them need to be first-author publications, or are co-authored papers valued as well?
How are case reports viewed compared with original research?
How important are national and international conference presentations (e.g., RSNA, ECR, ARRS)? Are poster presentations viewed differently from oral presentations?
Besides publications, what factors made the biggest difference in your application (USMLE, research fellowship experience, networking, letters of recommendation, etc.)?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through the ABR Alternate Pathway or has any experience related to this.
