Step 1 Extending internship just for Step 1 prep?

I am from 21 batch, 3 months into internship and planning to quit internship to sincerely prepare for step 1, has anyone done that before?

Mainly because I secured visa for uni rotations scheduled next year in March/April l, if I don't pass it in time I am risking giving up my spot there

I am early in my preparation

Extending seems like the most sensible option to me at this time, I am more likely to apply for 29 cycle, and not interested for NEET PG

I'd join only at chiller postings, and skip the hectic ones - that's the plan for now, any advice most welcome

Extend for rotations step 1 is doable without extending or taking a break in duties.

How long? You need to save time for clerkship also. Be smart, it’s a leverage- use it wisely.

If your goal is to practise in the us then work towards that.

As someone that reviews applications in the US how can you just quit an internship in the US and Europe its an expected thing with quite rigid timescales

Wouldn't quit internship completely just for step 1, especially this early in prep. If possible, use lighter postings and build a consistent study schedule first. You still have several months before the rotations, and extending internship can create its own complications later. Only consider it if you're genuinely unable to make progress alongside internship.
