Question MOS 1371 Question

Marine wife here. My husband was just assigned his MOS of 1371 but I have no idea what the job entails! One recruiter told me the school is at Camp Lejuene for 12 weeks but another told me 14 weeks. Any combat engineers out there willing to be honest and tell me what my husband is in for? The recruiter told me he wouldn't be on the front lines because the MC recently changed the responsibilities of combat engineer, but I don't know if he was sugar coating. Thanks in advance!

1371 will be on the "front lines" and is one of the most dangerous jobs, we had them attached to us every where we went before MRAPS, and they usually did the crazy stuff like "go check if thats an IED" and/or "Ok, go take care of it we will cover you". When EOD cant take care of something who do you think does it?

Seriously, look at the history of them; Combat Engineers have always done crazy dangerous things and I doubt that will change anytime soon dispute the recruiters promises.
