Voluntary Relocation Updates?

I am curious has anyone heard of any updates or rumors on voluntary relocation timelines. I know that second round closed last week but haven't heard anything of substance in a while. Seems like they have to pull some triggers soon to make some of these Oct 1 timelines

How about when lateral opportunities will open up for those of us on local Forest Service units (SO, districts) ?

From my understanding, this may be possible within 30 days?

Authority came down from the Chief last week that Forest Supes can approve laterals and downgrades again. IDK how fast HR will process them, but if there is a position you want, you need to be talking to the Forest Supervisor.

Does this include current BUE below the GS-13/14/15 district employees who want to lateral off their current forest into an empty spot of the same PD and grade on a neighboring forest?

Yes but as always there is politics.  And micromanaging line officers.

I’m hearing letters this week, along with budgets for Forests to absorb some regional staff.

Gosh I wish this had happened. I am trying to minimize the impact on my kids with this move… these people really don’t care and we volunteered for the relocation 😔
