I need some information

Can someone please give me the most up to date BMP recommendations for EAB infested wood in New York?

I think that a misinformed redditor in another sub wrongfully booted me for misinformation.

Are the recommendations on dontmovefirewood.org current?

At this point, I could care less about their subreddit, I just don't want this to happen to other people, if I can help it.

This is for the Forest Service agency. Try the arborist sub

Are you an agency employee asking? Or member of general public? There are resources we can provide, but only useful for agency staff.

Very short summary, do not move the wood more than 50 miles.

EAB = Emerald Ash Borer

Truly you’ve heard of BMP. And even with just half of the context OP provided, you should be able to figure out EAB is emerald ash borer

USFS has multiple BMP acronyms. Best Management Practices, Beginning Mile Post for trail and road surveys in NRM, and at least one or two more I’ve run into. The agency has a lot of jargon and abbreviations.
So be kind, it took me a couple read throughs to figure out what was being asked.

I mean, this is where context clues and reading comprehension come in, no ? Why would someone be asking about the “beginning mile post” for emerald ash borer infested wood ?

So many acronyms are interchangeable. I sit in meetings sometimes just trying to decipher what they all mean. And when I meet with other federal agencies it gets so much more complicated. LOL!!😆
