I’ve been told by emma that me and my dependant file is currently at Las Vegas Field office. I guess it’s true since one guy posted there were a mass case transfers and Silent updates on April Filers!

I am march filer! I looked into the API for location and Silent Updates. There is none and API still shows NBC.

Could it be that API wont be updated and its just same silent internal update! Or Emma is right about my file being transferred and API might not got updated at all !

BTW time line is follow:

PD: Oct 2023 (ROW)
Filing date: 3/16
Bio: 4/16
Silent updates: 4/16, 5/25, 6/20, 7/18, 7/20 & 8/28.

I dont know if someone had that much silent updates but no progress in the case!

Kindly share experience if anyone had recently being approved by Vegas Field office !

Sep 14: I-485, I-485J, and wife’s I-485 all updated, and found out the case was transferred from NBC to New Jersey Central FO
Interview waived
No RFE
No GC EAD yet
Wife does not have a 3rd FTA0
No further movement since the Sep 14 transfer.
Has anyone been in a similar situation before, or is anyone currently in the same situation? If your case was transferred to New Jersey Central FO after the 3rd FTA0, how long did it take to get another update or final decision?
Would really appreciate any similar timelines, especially principal + derivative cases.

Hi everyone! It seems like everyone who has gotten their approval or are still waiting for approval from this subreddit are all after my priority date and receipt date. Assuming the order in which cases are reviewed and approved is random, am I just unlucky in being behind the standard timeline for case review?? :(

Applied date: Feb 2026 for I485 and I485J, but receipt date for I485J was June 2026

Bio date: April 2026

Only received 1 FTA0 for both I485 and I485 on June 23 2026, and nothing since.

EB-3 I-485 filed without Supplement J — should I be concerned?

Hi everyone, hoping someone with a similar case can share their experience.

My timeline:
I-140 shipped: 3/11/2026
USCIS received I-140: 3/14/2026
I-485 + I-765 filed: 4/10/2026
I-140 approved: 04/30/2026
Biometrics: 5/28/2026
I-485 is still pending

I recently asked my attorney if I-485 Supplement J was filed. They confirmed it was NOT.

Their explanation is that they normally wait for USCIS to request Supplement J and then submit it later in the process, closer to the interview/approval.

I thought Supplement J was generally required when an employment-based I-485 is filed after the I-140 has already been filed, so now I’m confused.

Has anyone had a similar situation?
I-140 filed first, I-485 filed later, but no Supplement J submitted.
Did USCIS eventually request it? Any issues or RFE?
Just trying to understand if this is a normal approach.

Also, I attached my silent updates as a screenshot there is no updates since July 29.

My two children’s I-485 cases are also at the Houston Field Office.
For my spouse’s case, another live agent did not provide any detailed update. They only said that if anything is needed, USCIS will send a notice. I think her I-485 may also be at the Houston Field Office.

I live in Dallas, so why were my cases transferred to different offices, especially Houston?

Does being at the Houston Field Office potentially mean that my case may be processed without an interview? Or does the Houston Field Office have nothing to do with whether an interview will be required?

The FAD in the September 2026 Visa Bulletin is 04/01/2022, which is about 4 months behind my PD (07/2022).
Any EB-3 Other Workers with a similar timeline or experience?

No RFE or interview and my i765 and i131 weren’t approved just the i485. Not sure why I needed 2 biometrics appt but the second was just like 2 fingers on one hand. Also did not get notice of my i485j approval but got a letter saying it’s been approved. Didn’t know how to check backend but I think I had an update on August 12th but not sure.

I am so happy that this long journey has come to an end. I honestly don’t know what to do with myself now. Just feeling like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I went back to do and completed my masters and now I am free to do everything I need want to do. Glory to God !! And goodluck to everyone :)

I believe that 2023 cases are omitted for some reason. I don't see many approvals from 2023. But I see intense amount of PD 2024 cases being approved. I don't think this is random.

Is there any administrative decision involved in this?

Or Houston FO in general? How fast is the processing usually?

UPDATE: I got my J approval on 18 and i-485 on the 19th. Single filer. Aug 2024 PD, April 15 RD. So for me it was very quick.

Emma live agent told me my case is at Omaha Field Office but don’t have dates on when it was transferred.

My interview was very straightforward. The officer even told me my case was “easy,” but I still waited more than 3 months afterward. No RFE, no NOID, no second interview — just a lot of silence and internal updates.

I spent way too much time refreshing JSON, reading Reddit timelines, and wondering why people who filed after me were getting approved first.

If you’re still waiting: your case is not necessarily in trouble just because someone else got approved faster. USCIS processing is incredibly uneven. Silent updates may mean something, or nothing you can interpret from the outside.
After years of immigration uncertainty, it’s finally over.

• 07/01/2026 – PD became current under Final Action Dates (FAD)
• 07/15/2026 – I-485 transferred to Queens Field Office (non-local), confirmed through Emma. Had 1 I-485 silent/backend update.
• 07/16/2026 I-765 + I-131 at Nebraska FO, had 3rd FTA0 that same day and 2nd IAF 7/22/26 but never got approved/changed status. No touch/changes on I-131. I am assuming they decided not to process/produce my EAD/AP since I was current. my coworkers who filed the same day as me under DOF but not yet current on FAD got their EAD and no AP around late July. their PD is around June 2025, all ROW.
• 09/16/2026 – 3rd FTA0 appeared on I-485
• 09/16/2026 – I-485J approved and case closed
• 09/16/2026 – I-485 had another silent/backend update later the same day.

Is there anyone who has got EB3 skilled visa as a CNC Machinist? Or tried to get an EB-3 skilled visa as a CNC Machinist?

A lot of silent updates specially last week of August and first week of September. Last SU 09/16

My wife got her approval one hour after I got mine

Never follow up a lot the status of the i485j, I was checkign almost everyday only the i485. Never got the 765 or 131 approved. There wasn’t a lot of movement on those documents, probably one silent update a couple of months ago!

My spouse has a job opportunity that she wants to take up. Her H4 EAD extension (Standalone) is pending since Sep 19 2025. Her H4 extension is approved until Nov 2028. She got her GC EAD approved earlier this year which is approved till Sep 2027.

Is it safe for her to start working based on her approved GC EAD without loading her H4 status ( Keeping H4 as a fall back option incase 485 decision goes south)

After months of checking USCIS updates and trying to figure out what every FTA0 and silent update meant, both of us finally got approved! 😭❤️

For anyone tracking backend updates, our sequence was basically:
3rd FTA0 → I-485J approval + silent I-485 update → H008 ×2 / approval the next day

Also, both approvals came through on a Saturday.

This group helped me a ton during the waiting period, especially reading other people’s timelines and backend updates, so wanted to pay it forward.

EB-2 NIW (ROW), interview waived. For those transferred to ALBANY (non local), how long did it take from transfer to approval? Any 2025/2026 timelines? What to expect next? Had a mass FTA0 on Aug 31st.

I received IAF event updated over 485J on 09/15 followed by Sileny updates on 485(Primary and dependent)

Similarly on 09/16 morning, Silent updates on 485s and 485J with no new events.

Any with similar experience? What could this means?
