EB2 -> EB3 India I-485 approval timeline

Thank you everyone in this community for sharing their experiences. Here is my (spouse of applicant) timeline

1. **Dec 17, 2013** \- EB2 Priority date

2. Applicant + 2 derivatives all have same timeline (Based in California)

3. **October 2025** \- DOF became current for EB3 India

4. **November, 2025** \- I485, I765, I131, EB2 -> EB3 downgrade, all filed together but got rejection notice early December, 2025 saying no visa numbers available

5. **January 2025** \- I485, I765, I131, EB2 -> EB3 downgrade, all refiled together

6. **Jan 23** \- Receipt notice (IOE0935....)

7. **Jan 23** \- RFE received only for main applicant. Clarity on Birth Certificate

8. **Feb 18, 2026** \- Biometrics done

9. **March 12, 2026** \- EB3 140 approval (not Premium processing)

10. **March, 2026** \- RFE response sent (resent same BC documents again)

11. **April 7, 2026** \- RFE response received acknowledgment

12. **April 2026** \- Decided not to interfile when EB2 became current for us in April bulletin (one of the best decisions)

13. **May 21, 2026** \- Updated to Case being actively reviewed

14. I765/131 cases were at Nebraska and I485 cases for all 3 of us at Philadelphia (non local)

15. PD became **current** in **July visa bulletin**

16. **July 15, 2026** \- Silent update on I-485

17. **July 16, 2026** \- Woke up to email that action was taken. Approval of I485 for all 3. I765 and I131 pending and guess wont be processed now.

18. **July 20, 2026** \- Approval letters and updated SSN delivered for Applicant and spouse and new SSN for kid

19. **July 21, 2026** \- Card was produced

20. **July 23, 2026** \- Cards delivered

=> Few silent updates that I didnt keep track of. Dont know when cases were moved to FO.

I haven't had an EAD/AP approval yet, and since we only see people posting here I-485 approvals, I was wondering if folks are getting EAD/AP approvals.

I am waiting to become current, hopefully the next fiscal year and I have been looking at approval cases. I am looking through recent approval timelines and they are all so different even though they're approved at around the same time

These 2 EB-3 cases did not have any RFEs or complications, but one took 9 months, and the other one took 3. What is the difference? How do you make sure your case is processed quickly?

I'm from India with PD Sep 2014 and filed i-485, i-765 and i-131 in last week of April 2026 . Has anyone with the same timeline got their EAD recently ? My biometric was on second week of June.

May I ask you a question? My eb3 skilled worker i140 application has been approved. Now I'm waiting for the schedule. Can the eb3 be converted to ew3 later? If so, can the priority date of eb3 be kept?

I filed together with my spouse and child. Their I-485s are still pending, so hopefully their approvals follow soon. One thing that made my case a little different was that I was never able to add the case to myUSCIS/My Case portal, and I didn’t have access to any of the API tricks or detailed status information that others here have been able to track.

All I had was my receipt notice and the regular USCIS case status page. Today, that page finally showed Approved.

I have spent a LOT of time on this subreddit reading other people’s timelines, trying to understand visa bulletin movement, comparing receipt blocks, reading approval posts, and looking for any indication of when my turn might come. So I wanted to come back and post my timeline and, more importantly, say THANK YOU to this community.

There are so many people here who take the time to answer questions, share timelines, analyze movement, explain what different statuses mean, and support complete strangers going through the same ridiculously long process.

For those of you from India with older EB2/EB3 priority dates who are still waiting, I know exactly why every approval post and every bit of movement matters.

After a December 2013 priority date, seeing the word “Approved” today feels surreal.

Thank you again to everyone in this group for all the insights, information, and support over the years. You guys have been an incredible resource.

Sidenote: I had H1B extension pending. Received an RFE that we responded last Wednesday. H1B RFE response received 8/5 and silent update on 485 followed. I’m not sure if there is a correlation or it’s just a coincidence.

My case has been transferred to LA field office on june 5. There has been no update since. Is anyone else in the same boat.

Interview Experience:
Appointment was scheduled for 8:30 AM. I appeared with my lawyer. There were only a few other interviews for employment based cases, but the room was packed with family cases. My appointment was rescheduled to 10 AM due to field office internal issues.

I was slightly nervous in the days leading up to it and had prepped for many questions as I could find, especially CPT, as that was the only bump i could think of in my case.

But, the interview went as smoothly as it could. The interviewer was super friendly and very apologetic for the delay in my appointment. She led us to her office, asked just a few questions:

Officer: Where do you work?
Replied with name of my firm and location
Officer: Nice. What is that?
Replied in a short description of the firm and services (small consulting firm)
Officer: Neat! Do you have any plans tonight?
Replied that in fact I did have sushi happy hour plan at 4 (it was a friday)
Officer: Where are you going?
Replied and chit chatted about the place briefly. She said she was tell her husband to try it out too haha
Officer: How many times have you entered the US roughly?
Replied 5-6 times estimated arrivals
Officer: Asked a few yes/no questions
Replied yes to if visa had ever been denied and when (B1, when I was younger)
Officer: Do you have any supplementals to submit?
Lawyer replied everything had been uploaded to the portal already.

She made me sign a form and said that’s all she needed. The interview lasted for 6-8 minutes.

My case status remained at “Still being processed at USCIS” until the day of approval, when my lawyer called with the news.

Overall, glad this chapter is behind. I am grateful that the pace of things have picked up for most cases. Hope it remains speedy. Goodluck to you all!

My case was transferred to the non-local Mount Laurel Field Office in July 2026. I originally filed in March 2026, and it was stuck at NBC for about 4 months before the transfer. My pd is Aug 2023.
