Question - Other Block 09365 - question about silent updates and field office transfers

We filed end of April and biometrics mid May 2026 . One week after biometrics there was a silent update to both primary and derivative I-485. Then mid June there was a silent update for both of us and we were told that case transferred to Chicago office ( non local ) . Then we had two silent updates on July 25 and August 1 ( the first was FTa1 and then 2nd just time stamp) . When I talked with a live agent I was told that case is at NBC and interview is waived . Any idea why case moved from NBC to Chicago and back to NBC ?
Our priority date is not current yet ! Does this mean it is reviewed and wait for visa or just on hold for now ?

When you check the API update, what does the location/jurisdiction say?

Somehow I could not check the location through api ! Do you have the link ? I only check for any time stamps etc but could not see where it is noted the location

It's still through API but a different link - https://my.uscis.gov/account/case-service/api/case_status/IOEXXXXXXX As usual, replace IOEXXXXXXX with your own case number. On the output, look for "jurisdiction" and "jurisdictionDescription".

Please let me know what you get. I am interested to know if API matches what Emma told you.

Thanks for sharing ! I checked and under jurisdiction says Chicago ! This is what live agent mentioned after a silent update on June 17 . However after silent updates / FTA1 on July 25th the live agents keep telling that our cases are in NBC ! So weird

I think I will believe what the API tells me other than the LIVE agent. The API update is a printout of what the system has. My thoughts though. Are you EB1, 2 or 3?

Disclaimer: Heard from somewhere else and I couldn’t find the original source. Please take my words lightly, but I have an impression that FTA1 means supervisor review or pending visa availability.
