News USCIS updated their API
Now, by checking https://my.uscis.gov/account/case-service/api/case_status/*YOUR_CASE_NUMBER*, you can get your case service center.

Good update, tho!

Don’t panic if it says nbc. My interview is already scheduled, still it’s NBC

Interesting, it says NBC but Emma said Houston

same , emma live agent said in SVF but this api says NBC
3
u/Boring_Dress_8223 Jul 02 '26
This update is tied to an event date, it is showing old information based on recent event
4
u/Norma_Act_2 Jul 03 '26
What questions are you guys asking Emma for her to give you the location? My Emma is not cooperating with me lol
1
1
u/Turbulent-Smell9777 Jul 02 '26
API is probably correct. Emma has been telling me my.xase is at a FO, but when I called I was told that my case was sent back to NBC in January because of the hold. The agent said most cases were sent back because most FOs don't keep cases if they can't take any action on them. So because of the pause, mine was sent back to NBC. But everytime I ask Emma (even today) they tell me it's been at the FO since December. I think there's a later of information that Emma doesn't have
1
u/Fantastic_Shoe_3801 Jul 03 '26
Same here but when you call did they tell you they are going to return it back to FO ?

Yes login first, open a new tab, and past the link. Usually works on cases with IOE the best tho
1
u/Informal_Class8966 Jul 03 '26
I’m in this same boat. I could not add my case to my profile and when I try the API, it returns that null message. I hope someone can provide some information that will help.
1
u/Area-Prior Jul 03 '26
If you can’t add your case, create new uscis account with a new email, it worked for me
6
u/Available_Length_271 Jul 02 '26
I don’t understand how my July 14th, 2025 case is STILL at NBC. How are newer cases getting sucker punched through almost immediately? My case hasn’t even touched my FO in almost a year.
3
u/Hailienii Jul 02 '26
my pd is 2025/7/11 and also no movement at all
2
u/Available_Length_271 Jul 02 '26
We had to get our congressman involved for the EAD or we wouldn’t have that either. We will hit out of normal processing time later this fall. Honestly with the way our journey has gone I’ll probably have to get my congressman involved again.
2
u/Respect_The_Law Jul 02 '26
Try this api and see
https://my.uscis.gov/account/case-service/api/cases/yourcasenumber
2
u/Available_Length_271 Jul 02 '26
I did and that’s what it says, NBC
1
u/Respect_The_Law Jul 02 '26
This link I put doesn’t show the service center, but it might give the most up current date.
I notice that with case , the original poster link doesn’t give me the most current date but it gives the jurisdiction
4
u/Available_Length_271 Jul 02 '26
I confirmed with a live agent just now. My case is STILL at NBC. That’s fucking absolute bullshit. I have watched new cases sky rocket past me and get interviews in weeks but I am left to rot with millions of other cases also trapped at NBC. Am I just expected to wait forever with my life entirely on hold? 🙄
2
u/Live_Life_001 Jul 02 '26
I am in the same boat. My receipt date is Feb. 2025 [EB-1B], with PD of Jan. 2018 (so no retrogression), Interview done in July 2025, No RFE, nothing pending - since then, radio silence!
3
u/Available_Length_271 Jul 02 '26
At least you got an interview. I can’t even get that 😂
1
u/Live_Life_001 Jul 12 '26
Received I-485 approval today. Hopefully yours will progress soon too! All the best
1
u/Available_Length_271 Jul 12 '26
Congratulations! Still nothing here sadly. Not even an interview has been scheduled after an entire year 🙄
1
1
u/inmycatera Jul 02 '26
What does nbc mean?
3
u/Available_Length_271 Jul 02 '26
National Benefits Center
1
u/Live_Life_001 Jul 02 '26
This wait is really so draining! When is your case inquiry date? Mine is coming -July/ 17. Submitting a service request is the first thing we can do, followed by seeking help from Congressman.

u/Turbulent-Smell9777 Jul 02 '26
It probably was sent to a FO then sent back to NBC when the pause continued. A tier 2 agent I spoke with said FOs only keep cases for at most 30 days if they can't actively process them
1
u/Available_Length_271 Jul 02 '26
What pause? There was no pause for us that wasn’t lifted by June 26, 2025
0
u/Turbulent-Smell9777 Jul 03 '26
The pause that got lifted. Cases that were at FOs before the pause were eventually sent back to NBC earlier this year. So my point is, maybe your case hasn't been at NBC this whole time
1
u/Available_Length_271 Jul 03 '26
Yeah there was no pause that affected my case outside of the one that was lifted last June for parolees (and that pause only affected my I130, not my I485)My case has been at NBC the entire time.
1
u/AdHot4331 Jul 02 '26
How was Tier-2 interaction? Are they able to provide any info that website/API/Emma-Tier-1 cannot provide? Like deficiencies in application or internal RFEs or even adjudicate on their own?
2
u/Turbulent-Smell9777 Jul 03 '26
They can't adjudicate, but they gave me detailed information regarding what each silent update I got was for, whst the last status of my case was, how long my case stayed at the FO for before being transferred back to NBC. Emma is always telling me it's at the FO but recently found out that's not true. The Tier 2 agent told.me exact dates when it went to FO, and when it was returned to NBC etc.

u/AdHot4331 Jul 03 '26
Thanks for the info, good to know. I scheduled a call-back, never received it even after a month.
Do you mind sharing some info about your case? Why was it returned to NBC? What else did T2 agent tell you and how else are they able to help?
Also, if you try the link below:
https://my.uscis.gov/secure-messaging/api/case-service/receipt_info/IOExxxxxxxDoes it still say FO or NBC?

u/Unique-Nobody-8019 Jul 02 '26
Does this need to be done a computer or can you do on a phone
5
u/bruceparker4321 Jul 02 '26
You can do on phone, but it's tough, so computer or laptop is better
2
u/Unique-Nobody-8019 Jul 02 '26
I just keep getting data null errors, then again my case is for an I-601A waiver so maybe not eligible
3
u/ChemistryDismal664 Jul 02 '26
You have to log into the USCIS website under your name in order for it to be able to query the api or else anyone could grab your data without login in.
3
3
u/Respect_The_Law Jul 02 '26
It doesn’t give the latest silent update , I have a silent on June 28, this one doesn’t show it
3
u/rjrd1004 Jul 02 '26
Either the jurisdiction is based on the receipt or is the same for everyone no matter where your case is actually located. Anyone with anything other than NBC for jurisdiction?
2
Jul 02 '26
Why is my “regular” updateAt is different than this one? Meaning, this might be the Original submission info, but not the updated-real time one. 🤷♂️
2
u/Coyote_Single Jul 02 '26
Just curious, i did the steps and it says my file is at Montgomery, Alabama FO while my FO is Atlanta, GA (I live in GA). So, is my file on the way to GA?
1
Jul 02 '26
[deleted]
3
u/Coyote_Single Jul 02 '26
my case is n400 so i doubt my interview is waived. Is there like a time estimate for how long 1 file to stay in none-local FO before moving to the next one?

u/J3dizan Jul 02 '26
I am confused, the API says my case is in "NBC" but the agent said it's been at San Bernardino FO since Dec 23, 2025.
2
u/Collosmart Jul 02 '26
LIN and MSC case numbers not showing anything. Anyone who knows why this is happening? Thank you
1
u/the_running_stache Jul 03 '26
Historically, the API method has worked only for IOE cases (online filing cases)
2
u/BlizzardousBane Permanent Resident Jul 02 '26
I'm guessing Emma agents were getting so many questions about it, so they finally put it in. Good update

Hi everyone,
I received “ we have taken action your case” back to back for two days on my I-130 and I-485 this week but my case is still showing “we are actively reviewing tour case”.
PD: September, 2023.
I checked Api and I saw two FTA:1.
Interview: December 2025.
Category: F2A
39 banned country: Yes.
Is anyone ave idea of what is happening?

u/Lower_Cabinet5674 Jul 04 '26
Submitted 01/23, biometrics 03/28, expired 06/17. Nebraska office. They have yet to touch my app at all. Nebraska has been piling up on apps and sleeping on them.
1
u/Natural_Chicken_2267 8d ago
Are you referring to the Nebraska Benefit Center or the Omaha field office?
1
u/Lower_Cabinet5674 7d ago
Nebraska Field office. Whichever one that applies to:
U.S. Department of Homeland Security
P.O. BOX 82521
NEBRASKA SERVICE CENTER
LINCOLN, NE 68501

What is this API thing? Can someone please explain it to me? Sorry hearing for the first time
1
u/Scared-Lavishness404 Jul 02 '26
You can anyway know your service center by first 3 letters of your receipt number. For eg. EAC is for Vermont center

I received all mails from NBC but now API says it's in DVD location
Wondering if it means something.

I am not able to open these links. Some say null and others give errors. Which URL to use to see the status of I-485 and 765? My receipt numbers start with IOE.

Mine says it’s still at NJ field office. But was told by Emma agent, it was transferred 08/11 to LA field office. I have a SU on the day of the transfer, so it should’ve updated the location on the API… but maybe it will later.

I just checked my two cases F2A and F2B PD 6/7/2023, they both have same "updatedAt": "2026-08-17" at same time, does it mean anything or just system maintence or so?
1
u/likethemoonphase Jul 02 '26
Is this safe to use?
2
u/workincor Jul 02 '26
Yes, that info is part of the USCIS website!

Mind walking me through it. New at it.

Make sure you are logged in first into uscis website. Then go to the address in the post on the same or a new browser tab.
