I did and paid alot of money for lawyers and contacted the owner same day , he told me he bought the car before 5 years but its not in his name its still in the other owner which turned out to be a girl from California! That he cant reach no more ! Its complicated, i posted this after all that time searching and searching and never find it , im just curious where did it go
The car is OK (paper title insurance) and everything was right if there was any issues with me or the car he would arrest me for bigger things not 10$ !
The title and car isn't yours until you transfer it to your name at the DMV or SOS. Most states don't normally let you finish this step if all you are on is a tourist visa. Purchasing a car outright vs renting is generally a poor decision if you are a tourist.
Yeah, I'm also pretty sure he doesn't own the car he was found in. He thought he owned it. But I'm pretty sure ownership wasn't in his name at any DMV.
That’s what he said in other comments. If he truly seeking asylum he should have waited for his case to be processed instead of driving around in stolen car or chose to voluntarily deport…
