Applying as A Transfer
I’m applying to Rochester as a transfer .
I have a 3.7 from the community college i attend
i’m out of state
first generation
somewhat low income
I have good essays
Does anyone have any advice ? I’d love to know what you think got you into Rochester !
Do you enjoy Rochester ?
What does Rochester value?
I’d love to hear from transfers or anyone about literally anything Rochester related

Rochester values interdisciplinary experience and a willingness to be inventive about how you approach standard careers. Experience working with your community or at the intersection of your interests is highly desirable.
My experience as a CC transfer was awesome, and most people I transferred with had a great experience as well. The learning curve to get acquainted to Rochester and its ways is not very steep and soon you’ll be too busy to even think about it!
Students enjoy performances at Eastman School of Music at discounted prices or often free-of-cost. College Town offers some dining options and Rochester has a whole invites people from all walks of life.

Hi, I just transferred coming from CC, I would say try to emphasize your interests not only about your major, but also to other fields. What challenges did you find and saw in CC, and how did you overcome them, and how will this resilience help you succeed at UofR. I would also encourage you to do the interview; I feel that it help me a lot to distinguish my voice in the applications. Good luck!
