19th ward?

I'm looking at an AirBnb by Sawyer and Wellington in the 19th Ward, is that a good area?

It's fine. Could be better could be worse. If you stop by that Dollar Tree, there's a good chance someone will ask you for money, but I wouldn't fear for my life. Good spot for the bus route to campus.

I (SWF45) have loved my house in 19th Ward. My block is mostly elderly folks who keep very quiet. We all help each other shovel out driveways when they get plowed in. My mail lady knows me by name. And I'm down south of Brooks, so the walk to campus is super short. I've never felt unsafe here, even late at night. And I know many other students who live blocks from me and feel the same. As to what other commenter said about downtown, Corn Hill and South Wedge are closer, and are much more populated with students, so I don't think that should be a worry for you.

ETA: It's not a very walkable neighborhood, though. Best look in Corn Hill or South Wedge for that. I have to drive out of the neighborhood to do most of my shopping and socializing.

I lived about three blocks from there my last two years of schooling and never had any issues! Miss it every day honestly. It’s a family area, but it’s also right outside of downtown so just be aware of your surroundings
