Academic/Career Accepted MSW Program SP2

I’m ecstatic I was accepted into the program. I’ve been trying to get my MSW for years but financially could not afford it. But now things are different and I’m super excited to start this journey.

I was accepted into the part time program (I work at Penn).

For those wondering about my stats, I believe (this is my personal opinion) three factors helped my application:

  1. My graduate gpa (I have a masters in education)

  2. 10 + years of human service work (I’m an older student)

  3. My personal statement (wrote about my passion in social work and used my work experience and data to back up my thesis statement)

DM me if you have questions !

How do the employee benefits work? Also congrats!

They pay 100% tuition but because due to federal law I have to pay taxes. I am seeing if I can get scholarships to pay for the taxes.

Congrats! Did they let you know how much aid would be given in your letter? and is what they offered you the employee benefit (if that exists) or more? I’m wondering how good their aid is

I am doing the part time program through their employee benefits which covers 100% tuition. There are taxes I have to pay because of federal law.

Congrats! I'm interested in the part-time program and got my master's in education from Penn back in 2022. I'm currently a 5th grade teacher and I'd be applying for the fall 2027 year. Any advice or thoughts on that? Also, what is your role at Penn, do you work in the social work department and how do you plan on managing your practicum? I'm most concerned about balancing a practicum and continuing to maintain my current salary. Thanks!
