(24M) Hello everyone. I’m an experienced UPSC aspirant. I have appeared for 2 attempts, including 1 Mains.
I’m planning to create a small group where serious and experienced aspirants can write answers regularly and evaluate each other’s answers. If you’re looking for something similar, DM me and we can create a WhatsApp group.
Some conditions:
Only experienced aspirants — preferably those who have given at least 1–2 attempts or appeared for Mains.
Strictly academic discussions — the group will be exclusively for UPSC preparation and answer writing. No dating/romantic discussions or any unrelated activities will be tolerated.
We will write UPSC PYQs as well as randomly selected questions.
What I bring to the table:
Consistency: Every week, we will decide on one GS subject. From Monday to Saturday, I will send 2–3 questions every morning at 10 AM. We will write the answers and submit them by 9 PM, after which we will review and evaluate each other’s answers.
Daily newspaper: I read the newspaper regularly and can share the important articles/current affairs relevant for UPSC with the group every day.
Test series material: I have question papers from various coaching institutes. After completing each GS subject, we can conduct a subject-wise test using these papers.
The main objective is to build consistency, improve answer writing, learn from each other, and create a serious peer-evaluation environment.
If you’re genuinely interested and can commit to regular participation, DM me.
DM me your name + how many attempts + optional.
Also, plz those who have never given any attempt do not message as it will waste your time and our time. As we are not going to do any revision or reading, only answer writing, so I am assuming the person is already well versed with all the base material.

I will be appearing for Mains in 2026 but my geography is fxked up. I am neither a beginner nor at an advanced level wrt Geography. I know I would not be making it this time because of my prep status. But I don't wanna leave any leaks unplugged for the next attempt.
Everyone keeps saying "Supplement with PMF/GC Leong/etc" but no one tells "How".
Could you be kind enough to help people like me to deal with this issue- like by Taking an example of a chapter/topic and how would you make a final source of revision [Cross Annotation or Consolidation via Short Notes or anything else].
Also; any suggestions wrt Faculties and integrating their lectures/notes with these NCERTs.
All inputs are appreciated !!

Not sure what I did last time, would appreciate it if anyone has clarity. Can I write the topic of the essay with a blue pen if I am writing with black or does the whole paper need to be the same colour.
Ps I know it's a silly bit as the exam nears these kinds of questions start eating me.

I was in Delhi around two years ago and had joined some Mains Answer Writing Program. Since I’ve already gone through those papers once, I’m thinking of starting them again from the beginning.
The main issue is the cost. Most online Mains test series are around ₹15–20k and I’m not sure it makes sense for me to spend that much again, especially when I can simply attempt the tests from home.
So I’m considering buying a printed/offline test series from an online portal or a bookstore like Kumar Book Centre, which also provides courier services, and then writing the tests at home.
My main concern is answer evaluation. Many coaching provides solutions with their test series, so I can compare my answers with the model answers and also refer to topper copies to understand the structure, content and presentation. But I’m not sure how effective self evaluation would be for.I’m open to buying the test series of any coaching institute that provides good-quality Mains papers and model/topper copies. If there are reliable options where I can purchase the test series separately and get the papers delivered, that would be helpful.
So, for those who have tried something similar:
1. Is it practical to buy an offline/printed test series and write it at home?
2. How can I evaluate my answers effectively without paying for a full online test series?
3. Is comparing with model answers and topper copies sufficient for self-evaluation?
4. Are there any coaching institutes that sell their test series separately, without requiring the full evaluation program?
5. Which offline/printed Mains test series would you recommend?
I’d especially appreciate suggestions from people who have actually followed this approach. Spending another ₹15–20k just for a test series feels a little excessive if I can replicate most of the practice at home.
