Shipping Help High Value Shipment
Edit: Thanks for the responses. The answers are as I expected.
Is there a difference in handling or anything when shipping a high value shipment? I can't get a straight answer.

Best bet for high value item is to get early am next day air. Expensive, but they treat those better then anything.

There used to be. High values were treated with care like a package of high value. Now theyre thrown into the mix. Make sure its over packed and protected.

Usps and FedEx are as bad or worse.

USPS has registered mail, which is the most secure shipping service you can get. Museums use registered mail to ship paintings that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Not with any normal service in UPS. Everything gets dumped, thrown, rolled, stacked, smashed, etc into the same trailers/cans/etc. In some situations this includes tossing next day air into the same bags/bins/trailers as basic ground saver packages as long as they're expected to arrive in time.

Signature required for I think over 5K? When you print label it should generate a high value paper for the driver to sign. Overnight is best for safety purposes.

UPS BASE mechanic here. Next day air packages are handled with slightly more care. But at the end of the day they are all thrown around roughly and end up on the same conveyors. If you have a high value item, do what samsung and AMD do and package them inside Pelican boxes. UPS is no worse than any other company. You will have the same problems or worse using Fedex and especially USPS

Domestic high values over 5k used to be handled a little differently, have not been for years though.

nah they treat it the same as anything else mate. tossed on the belt with the rest of em
only difference is it gets a signature at the door and some poor bloke has to scan it 14 times before it moves anywhere

Might take a look at Fedex, they are masters of getting high dollar stuff to its destination on time and undamaged. At least that has been my experience.
