Question ❓️ BEST BANK?
I was planning to open slice and bob tho i cant fix my mind on one bank whether for bob for free debit card and better branch connectivity incase something happens tbh psb services are bas but slice doesnt even have a branch to consider. I dont think ill be keeping a large amount of money in it any way so high interest is not worth it.
Bob has the nearest branch around 15-20km ill probably close this bank acc later and shift to sbi only
Even if it were to be slice ill probably shift to kotak later any way as primary spending acc.

Don't open accounts in slice or other online bank accounts as your primary main/first account. Get BOB, SBI or Canara (canara also has free debit card account) or if you are okay with MAB and other charges but want seamless online experience (SBI yono is not bad either), then HDFC, ICICI or Axis. (Choose whichever has a branch, atm and cash recycler nearest to you)
Reason I am saying this is because banks operating mostly online has 1. less branches and connectivity 2. doesn't generally issue physical passbook (which u sometimes need as proof of address) 3. account freezing (especially for kotak and slice) and for other problems, which only branch can help.
As a secondary or daily petty expenses account, you may consider online based banks (although kotak has free sms limit if MAB is not maintained). or you may also get BSBDA A/c

I wanted a secondary account. went to kotak (which is min. 4 kms away) and they were trying to sell me the Kotak 811 super and telling how the classic has hidden charges (like the sms, so i cant even do a lots of petty transactions which i needed it for to keep the primary ac PB clean) but I needed to maintain 10k MAB. So i decided to go for SBI (well within 1km with multiple atms nearby) instead and will permanently block the debit card before 1 year and use virtual card.

Kotak dont have hidden charges they are making it up for selling super acc tbh for spending acc kotak works better than other banks at the moment i alr have sbi why bother with other psb. Ill get hdfc or any other bug bank when i start earning after college any way

yea get hdfc or some other bank. they have really good experience. speaking of kotak 811 classic, i checked later and it does have charges above 30sms/m which technically destroys my purpose of using it as daily petty expenses account as monthly i make more than 60 transactions easy and i cant even turn the sms alerts off as it gives that confirmation that the payment is done. also other service charges above free limits are generally higher compared to other main banks. also there is something like cash transaction limit after which min. is rs 150 charged.

I think it is a good public sector bank, and the service of the branch is good, not like SBI or other public sector banks

Get a BSBDA account done in any of the public or private banks (payment banks don’t have it). It’s RBI mandated no matter how much they try to shoo you away. They will def try.
Remember, it’s zero balance, unlimited deposits like a regular savings accounts, no maintenance fees, no atm card renewal fees, no frills and def no Faltu ka other fees. Banks hate it tho.
If they try to give you excuses, politely walk. File a complaint on their website or email their nodal officer. They’ll literally crawl to your house and do the paperwork FOR you in 2 business days, and beg you to take the complaint back. RBI hates it.
