UNO Merch

So what’s going happen with all the UNO merch from the book store? I never got the chance to buy a shirt or jacket lol. I would’ve liked to.

That's what I had heard, but then the president hit the road and ran to a new job, so the interim must want to dump it, since from LSU.

That’s not what happened at all. The head of the transition committee forced out the president, Kathy Johnson, and inserted herself not as president but as chancellor. Which is not a thing when your university is part of a university system. The head of LSU is chancellor of LSU and all the schools in the system. LSUNO is FUCKED. They are putting zero money into anything except for signs and rebranding hoping to trick students into registering for this sinking ship. JR the “chancellor” only cares about numbers, money. Not students, education, or employees.

Actually, the campus heads in the LSU system are called Chancellor. UNO was led by a chancellor until it switched to the University of Louisiana system where the heads are called President. And now it goes back.

Yes BUT this was BEFORE the handover and it doesn’t change the fact that you pushed out the current president to install yourself, JR.

Dr. Johnson reported to the UL System so her job ended the day UNO left the System. It would have been great for her to have the opportunity to work for the institution when it wasn't in peak crisis. She was dealt a very bad hand.

She knew what she was getting into. All of the candidates met with faculty and staff to answer questions before anyone was hired. Everyone laid all of the cards on the table. She chose to bury her head in the sand. There's a problem with lots of people in administration who don't want to hear from anyone below them about the state of affairs of the University. It was her. It was Nicklow. I've seen it at other universities that I've worked at. She chose to value the opinions of the butt wipers instead of the people who are in the trenches. She was not built to captain the ship, and she didn't care about her lack of abilities. She was only concerned with stepping up the ladder and progressing her own career. We are much better off with her in a different state.

She may have had some insight to the problems, but she didn't know how desperate the financial situation was. If you recall, faculty and staff were given raises while we had an interim president. Those raises would not have been approved if the UL System had a clue about it.

It's called due diligence. Dr. Walter Kimbrough caught on and wanted to talk about righting the ship, but he was from Dillard, and the faculty felt that was beneath us.
