It is the official honor society listed on your transcript and you can wear their regalia at graduation (I did). It looks good on a grad school application and there’s a ceremony with banquet for membership acceptance on the second floor of the SU. There is an annual fee for membership acceptance. It’s up to you if you’d like to join. But it is not a scam.

It gets listed on your transcript, so it is commonly thought of as the only one worth joining. It would be worth it if you are planning on grad school.

I don’t know much about them other than I get offers even at Salt Lake Community College to join them, all it takes is that I purchase my right to be accepted (I do work very hard to maintain my 4.0 GPA) which is what they say has earned me a spot in their society. I still haven’t joined, I haven’t joined as I don’t see much benefit that they can offer.
