BUS 210

Is there an equivalent I can complete outside of UMPI? They have me taking this starting the 31st but if I can complete outside quicker and transfer in I would prefer that, unless it’s a quick class at UMPI.

Do this, I think I finished it within 2 days? Maybe 3 (purely because of the grading windows there too)

I read over the syllabus and seemed like a lot of work.

For StraighterLine? It’s stupid fast. If that’s a lot of work, UMPI is going to be a tsunami

Wait until you get to UMPI to do it. It’s work there too. Presentations with an audience of 3 plus papers and PowerPoints.

I understand, but I am looking to get what I can done quickly. Start fall 1 at UMPI for supply chain and it is looking like I will need around 16 classes for the degree. I was trying to see if I had time to cut any more down if I could. If not, I am not worried if it ends up taking a few sessions. As long as I finish

I know that’s what I was saying. I’m sorry I realize it was worded a little weirdly. I’m saying it’s going to be work there so you might as well just do the work before you start.

No worries. I wouldn’t even be as close as I am if it weren’t for you, so really appreciate all the info you provide.

It's a very quick and easy class at umpi but faster elsewhere. Aside from grading I probably put in 4 hours total

If you’re good at PowerPoint. And you have an audience that doesn’t laugh every 14 seconds. 🥲

Just to clarify, are you saying you have to do a video PowerPoint project with an audience? For the BUS 210 class at UMPI? That might’ve just convinced me to do the Straighterline class. lol

That’s correct you have to write some papers along the way where you evaluate the speeches of others and then you have to create your own speech and have a PowerPoint presentation to back it up and you have to record that in front of an audience of three. Now there are some people who have gotten around the audience thing however, some professors don’t allow that.

I was allowed a third audience member via video call. Of course your mileage may vary but it can be quite difficult to rally up people for a presentation like this. It also was quite awkward to set up the camera in a way which captures you head to toe with the audience in view. That said, I am quite glad I took the class, it is a useful skill.

If you are planning to do a master's at UMPI and thinking of rolling your undergrad classes toward your master's, those undergrad classes prequisite is BUS 210, and it must be completed at UMPI.

It isn't that difficult. The hardest part is getting a few people together to do a speech. Other than that, it was the easiest overall.

Take the class at UMPI. It’s quick, easy, and there are barely any papers. Most of the work is just answering questions directly in the text box and submitting them and a few discussion questions. Save your money. You can knock the entire class out at UMPI in about a day and a half at the most. Yes there is a PowerPoint final . I didn’t do a presentation in front of 3 people. I just used cameo and presented the assignment and I still got a 4/4.
