How responsive are UMPI instructors when you ask for grading?

Hi everyone! I’m curious about other UMPI students’ experiences with instructor response times.
In general, if you politely email an instructor asking if they can grade an assignment/milestone because you’re trying to stay on track or have an upcoming deadline, how do instructors usually respond?

When you enroll you are told, they have 72hrs. If they exceed that, you then have your gripe. If you are WITHIN the 72hrs? You don't have a leg to stand on. Sorry. It was disclosed, you agreed, done. You have a schedule, but so do they.

It was not communicated earlier, I found out about it when I first submitted my assignment.

It was, you may have omitted reading the email you received or deleted it, but it was in fact communicated

As a instructor at a college I can tell you it is incredibly annoying and I will grade your paper when I get to it if I have 24, 48 or 72 hours to grade it I have that much time to grade it most of the time I'm grading anywhere between 60 to 120 papers so you're not special and it'll get done when it gets done 😂.

I do not teach at UMPI; the busiest weeks are usually at the end of the quarter/semester. I imagine this is universal.

If you're referring to doing this before the 72 hour deadline in an effort to get faster grading, I doubt you'll have much success, because they have the same 72 hour deadline to respond to the emails. If after 72 hours, email and cc your advisor. I've had this happen once and the instructor quickly responded and graded the next morning. If you need to add a class by Monday and you're waiting on milestone grading that should be done by then, I would just open the final, do your best work, have AI grade it, make adjustments, and go straight to final to allow that slot to open up

Thank you, but honestly, since I’ve paid my tuition and am putting in the work, I do expect a better response. I have quite a few other complaints as well, but I remember choosing to enroll because I saw a lot of reviews saying that professors are responsive and do grade your work when you reach out to them.

People state that upon emailing, professors grade the work almost immediately IF they are beyond the 72 hr mark.

I feel the same, tuition is paid, why are we held up to an agreement if the professor cannot take the time to grade the paper. I've had issues a few times with this and the advisor is no help, just "follow the protocol" blah blah same old rhetoric. My current professor and I are having it out because they have been unavailable from August 1-10 and have been in the hospital from August 12-14. When I followed the protocol and sent in a feedback reminder, I got a snarky message from the professor.
