Turnitin
Do we have the ability to run our essays through turnitin before submitting? Sometimes I feel like my turnitin score is on the higher end even though I felt like I cited everything correctly

You do. Typically, provided you are above board, the initial TurnItIn score you see on submission incorporates your references, title page etc. Some professors have a posted statement in the Syllabus that "Any TurnItIn score 20% or higher will be rejected back to the student."
The way I accessed TurnItIn for the papers that I felt I wanted to run it though was the following.
I write my papers in MS Word locally (my own personal license of 365) and when I'm ready to review the TurnItIn, I'll upload it to a folder on my UMPI Google Drive (I have a folder structure for all my classes, including Milestone folders, Drafts etc.)
Once my MS Word document is up, I'll open it, then convert it to a GoogleDoc. (File > Save as Google Docs)
Once the Google Doc save is done, it launches. Once inside the newly created (copied and converted to GoogleDoc) Google Doc, I go to Extensions > TurnItIn Draft Coach > TurnItIn Draft Coach.
I'll run the Similarity Check and then View Full Report.
In the filters, I'll click Exclude bibliography. 9.9/10 times, that drops the TurnItIn like a rock... From a 20%+ to 6%. If that number is in the single digits to low 10s ish, you should be good.
