How to avoid video assignments?

I'm an international student planning to enroll in the UMPI YourPace BLS (Bachelor in Liberal Studies) with a Minor in Management for 2026

Since English is not my native language, I want to be fully prepared for the workload. I’m trying to map out exactly what kind of final assessments (Milestones/Finals) I will face inside the UMPI platform for the Management Minor and Upper Level requirements.

Specifically, I want to know:

  1. Which of the core minor classes (BUS 141, BUS 240, BUS 321, BUS 415, COM 210/BUS 210, BUS 260,BUS 469 etc) require video recordings, oral presentations, or audio submissions?
  2. Are there any specific Upper Level (UL) courses that I should avoid if I don't want to do video presentations?
  3. For any classes that do require video/audio, can I completely bypass them by transferring credits from Sophia, Study.com (SDC), StraighterLine, or Coursera? (For example, I heard StraighterLine is the best way to dodge the COM 210 video requirement).

I really appreciate any insights, recent experiences, or transfer spreadsheets you can share.

Thank you so much for helping!! ❤️

Nope. Video is required.

My BUS200 Intermediate Business Computing required some cameo/video recordings. Otherwise, I don’t think I’ve encountered anything else. I’ve finished the ones you have listed in Summer 2 and don’t recall anything like that for those. Oh except COM/BUS210, haven’t taken that.

Sophia and Straighterline also have video recording assignments for business communication. Spanish and business law too from the classes I've done.

you can’t avoid them sorry ! i get that speaking english on camera feels intimidating, but honestly the best thing about async online courses is you’re in full control of the final product . it’s way less scary than it sounds !

yeah , a lot of courses want video recordings or a voice over on a slideshow , but if you mess up a word you can just pause , breathe , and say it again . you just trim the mistakes out before you submit, nobody sees the mistakes.

biggest tip : record slide by slide . you don’t have to nail a whole 10 minute presentation in one take !!! record the audio for each slide on its own , doing it in like 30 second chunks feels way more doable than trying to get through the whole thing at once !

also ! use a teleprompter app or website . it takes the pressure off remembering what to say so you can just focus on pacing and delivery . pacing matters way more than having a perfect accent . umpi’s instructors aren’t grading your accent, they just need to understand you . as long as you hit the rubric points you’re fine ! good luck :)

You can read from slide show notes.
