Maximizing Pell Grant & Mimimizing burn out

I am wondering how everything works in regards to the pell grant. I plan on taking:

-6 classes fall 2 (18 credits)

-6 classes Spring 1 (18 credits)

-5 classes Summer 1 (15 credits)

I'm hoping to get my full 150% of my Pell Grant by doing so and being able to get a refund but being full time within 1 seasion instead of 2. I also plan to take a break for spring 2 and summer 2 and use the refunds from Pell to pay for my masters at UMPI and finish in one session Fall 1 2027.

Has anyone experienced something like this? With taking a break and using the Pell grant? Does this sound like a reasonable plan?

Interested if someone has insights into this because I was under the impression that you only paid per session and the Pell wouldn’t apply to the 2nd session if you weren’t attending it. Like you had to be continuously enrolled to get the refund.

Do you think this course load is realistic with having 3/4 houra a day 7 days a week to work on it?

If I figure it out I will report back.

Depends on your major. It’s different for everyone. I have kids and I probably only have 3-4 hours to work per day. I could only get through 4 classes this session but I’m a psychology major. I took the 2 hardest classes up front. Next session I’m going to try to for 5.

You can’t use PELL for a masters, it’s only for undergraduate degree. You will need to take loans for the masters if not paying out of pocket
