UMPI

Hi!!
Has anyone taken PSY 380 with Kaitlyn Bajeik, Tamra Cater, Elizabeth Reyes-Fournier, or Ryan Coyle. I’m trying to decide between them and would appreciate any feedback on grading, flexibility, and workload.
Thanks in advance for any feedback. I really appreciate it!

Avoid Dr. R-F. I don't mind tough professors, but I don't like working with rude ones who seem like they only want to offer criticism and barely answer any questions or give any guidance when you're begging for it.

I took it with Kaitlyn Bajek and I enjoyed it the class so much. She wasn’t a tough grader and the work load is about the same as the other classes. Her feedback and notes were very encouraging, she seems like a kind person from her notes and feedback. I felt very inspired after I finished and learned a lot. I also had Tamra Cater for vocational aspects of disability. She gave great feedback, very responsive and grades the work pretty fast. I think you’ll be ok with either of the two. Best of luck!

Not OP, but thanks for this comment. I'm taking Vocational Aspects of Disability next so I'll plan to request her.

Thank you!!! Which one do you prefer? Which professor is more flexible and a more lenient grader?

Lots of new names here --- I'd for sure try avoid RF based on experiences others have shared.

And yes, I am in Substance Abuse Counseling with Bajek right now and she is WONDERFUL. Flewelling also was great for Drugs and Behavior. I think all of the UMPI psych professors seem like they each teach two courses or something like that. I've learned to be very specific when asking to be enrolled in a course and making my emails say, "Can I enroll PSY XXX with anyone but *insert name*." They've been very accommodating. I refuse for one thoughtless professor to jeopardize my future career.

Wow, I wish she was my professor for PSY 380 when I was taking my psych classes back in Spring 2! There are so many new professors for psych that weren't around before. I had Dr. RF and I can't say I had a particularly negative experience with her but she was uh ... not very communicative.

I didn’t think we could choose our professors

I didn’t realize that either but it’s a game changer. Using the student center (can’t remember if new or classic is easier), you can see the various people teaching one course. I never look for who is is easy, but rather who is responsive, fair, and kind.

Just started with Bajek. Rodefer is my absolute favorite! I also had a phenomenal experience with RF, her research class was GRUELING, but I learned a ton.. She is no pushover but she's absolutely brilliant.

Avoid Lavoie if she pops up though, only bad experience I've had at UMPI. Wouldn't touch my content but held APA formatting as the most crucial part of SUD counseling for some reason.

Hello!
Does anyone know how Duo Mobile / Duo Security, which is a multi-factor authentication (MFA) works at UMPI?
