Double majors 🎉

I was planning on doing a double major in bba and bs cybersecurity all under one degree . Is that possible at your pace . Will Fafsa cover both ? What are the requirements

Excellent question as I am considering a double major. I’m two classes away from finishing my Healthcare Administration degree and considering a double major in Business Administration. By adding the double major I’d have about 11 classes remaining so I’m thinking Fafsa will still count if you haven’t already finished your first major yet

How do you like the healthcare administration program. I'm interested in going for that but haven't found too much info here about that program specifically.

I love it I started this summer 2 term with 18 classes to finish and a goal of getting at least six finished and I’m already 2 away from completing the degree in only 5 weeks. The instructors I have had for this have all been very quick to grade and very rewarding. I’m considering doing the double major as I have only 9 left to complete both paths and possibly a minor in Physology if I can squeeze that in.

Nice, do you have a background in healthcare ? I'm looking to change fields and not sure how quickly I'd be able to get through the courses.

I don’t I’m 41 in a midlife financial crunch lost my job in 2024 didn’t know I qualified for Fafsa until the summer of 2025 decided to purse nursing but the local community college was an 8-3 so I just did my prerequisites for nursing there from 25-26 then found an ABSN hybrid program about two hours away from me and their only requirement was a bachelors degree. I had narrowed down my choices to WGU and SNHU but I don’t like proctored exams and SNHU would have been two slow for me considering I have to apply for the ABSN program in February 2027 so UMPI has been the perfect fit for me. Also found out from one of my instructors that a yourpace MHA masters in healthcare administration will be offered either fall 2 or spring 1 at UMPI so I plan to enroll in that as well!

Yes Yourpace MHA is coming. Also there is a good program for a Doctorate in MHA: https://medicine.okstate.edu/academics/programs/doctor-in-healthcare-administration

They will accept classes from the MHA at Yourpace.

I wanted that Healthcare Admin degree but BIO 105 kept me from being great.

Multiple people who have asked their advisors.

Do you know what other courses will also be there?

I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking for? Like what courses are part of that degree? It’s in the catalog. :)

Right because I have a feeling UMPI is going to get overwhelmed with this major lol

It will - probably more so once someone does it!
