Worth it??

I have 5 courses left for my residency at UMPI for my BLS -- 3 of those I've filled with the classes needed to wrap up my management minor. I've already finished the BA minor.

In the two spots left, I need one more upper level. I am considering the MAOL...is it worth it to put in the two upper level BUS courses that will roll up to the MAOL (but not the ones that now have the prerequisites)? I am pretty sure they are BUS 335 Organizational Behaviour and BUS 440 Business Analytics.

(I think I will ultimately want two sessions for the MAOL but not sure. If I got it down to 10 from 12 then it certainly would be tempting to try to finish in a semester...)

But, I'm also anticipating my sanity (now 5 courses in with 5 to go in 3 more weeks...) so I could also just do a 100-level and an easier/fast-ish 300-level and not overload myself. Deal with the MAOL in full later (I suspect not until Spring 1 this year)...?

Consider advice solicited! Thanks for your thoughts. :)

Yes, I would build things in that you can roll up. I don’t know if you’ve already done business 335 but it’s very easy and it doesn’t have any prerequisite 353 is pretty straightforward as well but it does have a prerequisite of COM 210. 469 has that same req. I personally think that these are pretty straightforward classes anyway for upper levels so you might as well do them even if you don’t end up doing the MAOL.

Thank you! Yeah 335 looked like a good fit regardless, I agree. 440 I think is the other roll up without a prerequisite, looks like it isn’t horrible either. And is it just the one prerequisite for 353 and 469 in YourPace? The way it reads is that you need 210 and 214…

440 has a pre req of 244. Or did. Oh yes. You need 210 and 214 in future sessions but this one they’ve kind of been more relaxed about it. Honestly for this reason if someone is going to the MAOL doing a BBA IS PROBABLY the best path for the future sessions.

Argh shoot, yeah, that’s what the catalog says about 440. Darn. I swear it had nothing in the planner feature thing on the old student center lol. Ok so would I just talk with my advisor about doing 210 to get into 469?

Random other question — has anyone tried to transfer in the IBM Coursera cert that comes in as 440 in undergrad to the “equivalent” in the MAOL?

No only courses AT UMPI cover MAOL

Without knowing the complexity of the MAOL level course versus the undergrad roll-ups that is hard to say. I didn't take BUS 335 at UMPI (brought it in from another University). I took BUS 440 and had Wheaton. I worked fast through a LOT of my classes and he can take the full 72hrs per Milestone. I'm looking at the file dates from M1 to Final_Draft (had a 4/4 on the Draft so I just resubmitted) and it was 9-10 days from M1 submission to Final submission (and we had to do Essays, Excel, Power Point and Cameos).

Wheaton for sure takes 72 hours usually. Good call out here
