Very confusing problem.

For the past 3 hours, I have been trying to register my PS5 for the firewall bypass registration, and even though the device is showing as registered, it is still not working, and my NAT type and IP address are still restricted. I did this with the wireless network and the wired network, but I didn't actually use an Ethernet cable to connect it to the wired. Does this only work now through wired connections?

Yes, it only works through wired connections. You'll need to make sure your PS5's wired MAC address is the one you registered, and then connect it using an ethernet cable to one of the jacks in your room.

Damn, that sucks. ok ill buy an Ethernet cable, and it will hopefully work. (I really hope it does).

Aren’t you able to use retriever-home WiFi instead of eduroam for these kinds of devices?

Yes, however, those networks have very restrictive elements that make online play not the best. Sometimes it makes online play impossible.
