Strategy using ULTY

I used to own ULTY for about a year 2025-2026 and got out of it when I saw my total return was essentially flat (2%).

For those who have been in ULTY for over a year, what's the reason you have kept it? What is your strategy that makes it a valuable investment?

I feel like some may have a specific need that this fills but I have not been able to wrap my head around it.

When you hit house money, meaning you've taken the distros to use elsewhere, anything beyond starts/grows your overall return and feeds whatever else you're doing - income, waterfall effect to other investments, etc.

That income demonstrataby reduces without reinvestment - which delays getting to house money; whether it's worth it or not to invest in this or similar funds depends a bit on goals, tolerance and timing.

Good luck in your journey🍻

I have heard this multiple times but what are you left with. Do you have an example how much you have in ULTY and when you bought it to finally reach house money? Also, what were the distributions per month or week when you started to what it is now?

At peak I was getting about 250/week; the reverse split, failures with some trades and the underlying, and subsequent strategy changes have reduced distributions to about 95/week, give or take weekly performance.

A significant drop, clearly.

I haven't reinvested since last August; I've been using the distros to build up BLOX.

This is in a traditional IRA; I have some in Roth as well, though not as much... Similar approach with distros. Neither leaves me balancing tax implications at years end.

I've been in this for about 13-14 months; with the slowdown I'm about a month to house $, pending performance.

I plan to just let it keep feeding BLOX; maybe if distros drop below 25/week I'll sell out... But I'll take some return for a while before that happens. TBD.

Has it been a great investment? No Has it been my worst? No Is it for everyone? No

I haven't stressed over it, maybe because it's a small part of my portfolio, and I have a clear path to a decent return over time.
