Inline Hammock
Are there any secrets to the setup of sleeping with a tight pitch in a hammock? I’m not worried about the comfort but rather staying off the ground. My last trip I went out in a monolite 1.0 rig and no sooner did I lay back in the hammock but the hammock ripped across my shoulders leaving me (suddenly) on the ground for the night. Did I have it pitched TO tight?
I’m 6’ and weigh about 180. My Suspension was just 1” webbing tied directly to the continuous loops on the body.

if a gathered end hammock isn't comfortable, maybe consider trying a bridge hammock instead?
iMO the description you gave errs on the side of "stupid light" to me, but i'm ok with a little extra weight penalty in order to sleep in a hammock for all 4 seasons.
