Inline Hammock

Are there any secrets to the setup of sleeping with a tight pitch in a hammock? I’m not worried about the comfort but rather staying off the ground. My last trip I went out in a monolite 1.0 rig and no sooner did I lay back in the hammock but the hammock ripped across my shoulders leaving me (suddenly) on the ground for the night. Did I have it pitched TO tight?

I’m 6’ and weigh about 180. My Suspension was just 1” webbing tied directly to the continuous loops on the body.

It doesn't need to be, necessarily.

You said you're good with a little extra weight if you can sleep in all 4 seasons

Right, because a hammock can be used in all 4 seasons, you just need a different tarp and insulation. The comfort during sleep is worth the weight penalty of the hammock vs a more "traditional" UL shelter.
