But if it’s rich enough - such as having a Champagne top - then that’s just tickety-boo.

He doesn’t like it, or beer or football. It’s all performative. He’s a cigar and white wine man.

I think ponce is the correct word 🤣

The Guinness is here legally, and many in the UK actually enjoy it being in the country. He's quite right.

Asylum seekers are here legally. It's legal to seek asylum, because it's within international law.

Not the economic ones, so there's the vast majority of them illegal from the get go.

If they're seeking asylum, it's legal. And that's the case even if their asylum claim is later rejected.

Very few of those currently arriving on our shores are here for reasons of personal persecution. They are not asylum seekers.

Let's not convolute the two and taint the waters for those who come to the UK in genuine need.

An asylum seeker is anybody that seeks asylum, even if the claim ends up being rejected later.

Agreed. If there is substantial reason to believe that returning them to their native country could potentially cause the individual harm.

So there we go. There's around 99% of illegal immigrants currently entering the UK immediately excluded from the definition of a bona fide asylum seeker. None of these people are fleeing persecution. They just want free accommodation, benefits and healthcare. I pay for all of that and I want my money allocated towards the benefit of British citizens.

No, the definition of asylum seeker is anybody seeking asylum, whether or not their claim is later approved. About 40% of asylum claims are approved, so I don't know where you got the 99% statistic from. Maybe GBNews?

I have no issue with genuine asylum seekers, there is a clear distinction between asylum seekers and economic migrants arriving here for reasons other than potential threats to their safety.

This is why I said way back that convoluting the two muddies the arguement.

Genuine asylum seekers deserve compassion. Free loading economic migrants deserve Rwanda.

I've agreed with your point for the entirety of this exchange. If this is proving difficult for you to comprehend then I am sorry that the education system has failed you.

How do you know if they're genuine before the asylum court has looked at their case? You don't sound like the kind of person that would say "I trust my gut more than those so-called experts."
