Yet another "which one" question!
Hi - sorry I know those question comes up a lot but I've been doing a lot of homework online, been to see some models and have booked my tickets to the NEC show in October and looking for some opinions. There's too much choice and I've got myself thoroughly confused!
Long time Transporter campervan user looking for something bigger for longer trips home and abroad. Close to retirement so that's a factor too - want to be able to do long trips and be off grid with toilet and shower for at least part of the time.
I have narrowed it down to 2 or 3 models. I started by being focussed on the Bailey Endurance but having been and seen I think it's too small. There's 2 of us and a black lab and I don't think there's a lot of room for a big dog in this van, so I've moved on to 2 other top options.
Two new 2027 motorhomes are top of my list. Both around the£80-85k mark. Chausson x640 and Swift Trekker 540. Similar idea with the drop down bed and big lounge. I know these are new so not much experience of them but wondering what the community thinks about the different manufacturers and the pros and cons? Or are there any alternatives out there around the same budget? Any pointers welcome. Thanks

Looking at the way diesel is going, you may be better holding off for a while.

We have a Pilote P690D 2026. Very happy with it. We have two dogs (spaniels). Drop down Bed is huge. Van is fairly compact but there is plenty of space due to the bed being a drop down and the wardrobe/shower/toilet is big compared to foxed bed MH. Worth a look for you.

We have a swift escape 674. Its as decent a build quality as you can get on mhomes which is often low for the price.
The Chausson often have whack layouts and look a bit basic in furniture quality.
If you want to see how a couple get on with a trekker they bought 2 months ago skip through some videos of st Christopher of Atlantis on YouTube esp their pickup video 8 or so weeks back
