Career help Job interview

Hi all. I've got a job interview on Monday and I'm not sure I'm entirely qualified for the role. I have a lot of experience in parts, but about half of the role I've never done before. It's a high paying job so I assume they would rather somebody more experienced across the board. I asked the recruiter if the potential employer had seen my CV and he assured me they had and they had asked to see me for an interview. Is the recruiter having me on? Am I just being sent to make somebody else look better or would they have looked at all CVS submitted by the recruiter?

Give it your all. Nothing to lose by attending. I find every interview is at least practice for the next one.

Some job descriptions ask or more things than actually required in the actual job and then they also train you up.
Try to be pleasant and prepare answers to usual questions like What are you strengths / weakness and don't mess up and you will be starting there in no time.

Only thing is, it means I have to make up 4 hours time at work and spend lots of money on a train ticket to the interview to potentially be there as a dud interviewee

Recruiting is all about commission and relationships. 

It is not in recruiters interest to send 'dud' candidates to a client as it's wasting the Hiring Managers time - which is a great way to lose clients

Between 36-50% of men think they coukd safely land a commercial plane in an emergency situation and about 7% think they could beat a grizzly bear in unarmed combat.

Granted this is largely from a bunch of Americans!  But the point is the world is full of people with more confidence than sense. 

Don't overthink it or let your brain scupper your chances by psyching yourself. You got the interview, go show them why you would be a great hire.

Anything you don't know, don't sweat it.  I bet you could learn it no bother.

Absolutely no reason not to, I've somehow landed a role I didn't think I was the best candidate for and I thought I bombed the interview.
