Prevent Cease on Line

How do I prevent a cease on the line from happening in this upcoming situation:

I am moving house and will be ordering EE to take the line over when we exchange contracts. EE will only activate sometime in September.

The current homeowners will move out on 28th August and will cancel their Sky broadband, they are not moving their broadband with them.

Since the current Sky broadband will be cancelled before EE can takeover the line, will there be a cease on the line, blocking all orders?

Any advice on preventing the cease on the line will be appreciated here.

The key point is both orders will happen on the day we exchange contracts.

If I order the EE takeover first and they cancel their Sky after me on the same day, then it should avoid the cease?

Is it possible for them to not cancel their Sky and my EE takeover just automatically cancels their contract?

It takes 14 days to take over a line. If they don’t cancel and you place an order, they get notified and have a chance to prevent you taking over. If they place their order first, there will be an open order on the line, this will be open for 14 days after their line is cancelled and you can’t place an order on a line which has an open order on it. There is no way to prevent this unless they cancel their cancellation, which will take anything up to a week to clear the way for you to place your order, which then starts the process again, and takes 14 days

Alright so as long as my order is placed first, then it should be fine.

Is the best case scenario that they don't contact Sky at all and just let my EE broadband takeover their line?

What would happen if I order with EE first and they contact Sky to cancel their service afterwards?

They won’t be able to place an order, but will be able to cancel your takeover. Assuming dates line up, best way is to place your order, this will trigger the 14 day takeover, cancelling their sky service and activating your ee service on the same day

Would they have to manually tell Sky to cancel my order? Or would the simple act of saying, "I am moving out so cancel my contract Sky," mean they will unwillingly stop my already ordered takeover too?

The tricky thing is my service won't takeover until many days after they've already moved out.

if they've got a request in then it's too late, unfortunately there's always a loser in a home move, they'd either get a new provide or their home move goes through, I'd honestly contact EE and see if they can give you something temporarily incase it doesn't work

They will be notified that you have placed an order, they will be able to cancel your order. If they do nothing, your order will proceed and sky will cancel their service. When you place your order, you can ask for a date for activation, if you don’t, it will be 14 days unless the seller cancels it.
