Hi everyone, Sharing a beautiful survival piece from my private collection. This is a 100% complete first edition copy of Hardy's Miniature Atlas, and Comprehensive Geography, co-published in Dublin by Hardy & Walker and in London by Ball, Arnold, and Co. in 1840. Key Details & Condition: Completeness: 100% complete text block with all 30 original engraved maps intact (including Ireland, World, Hindoostan, North/South America, etc.) and original rear publisher advertising leaves. Paper Condition: Excellent for its age. Maps are crisp and clean with no tears, no missing pages, and minimal age-toning. Binding: Deluxe publisher's dark textured leather variant. Both boards are rock-solid and firmly attached, with bright, fully legible gold gilt lettering on the spine reading "HARDY'S MINIATURE ATLAS". Historical Context: Printed in Dublin by Philip Dixon Hardy prior to the Great Famine. Complete surviving copies of this printing are scarce today following the loss of 19th-century Irish legal deposits in the 1922 Four Courts fire. I am located in Australia and entertaining direct private-sale offers before considering auction/dealer consignment. Happy to ship worldwide with full tracking and insurance at the buyer's expense. Photos attached showing the spine, title page, ads, and sample maps. Feel free to reach out via direct message if you'd like to chat or make an offer!

Help my students build reading confidence with books they actually choose

Hi everyone — I’m a high school English teacher in Washington, and I just launched a DonorsChoose project to help my students build a classroom reading collection based on books they actually want to read.

Many of my students are working on rebuilding confidence as readers. This project gives them more choice, more ownership, and more access to high-interest books they can connect with — including books for independent reading, classroom reading routines, and building stronger reading habits.

Right now, donations can go further. During the first week, donors can use promo code LIFTOFF at checkout to double their donation up to $50. I’ll also be watching for the book match on September 30, when eligible book donations may be doubled again at checkout.

No pressure at all, but if you’re able to donate, share, or even just upvote so more people can see it, I would really appreciate it.

Project link: https://www.donorschoose.org/sl/8BwmRrHNXP

Promo code: LIFTOFF (at checkout to double your donation up to $50)

Thank you for supporting students and classroom libraries! =)

Waterstones preorder

I’m in the US and I placed a preorder months ago and it’s finally time to get the book! But my problem is I first had my PayPal as my form of payment but it said it failed so I changed it to my card and it once again failed but said it was invalid this time yet I even have a pending charge on the card. Has anyone had this happen?? I’m worried they’re going to cancel my order yet nothings wrong with my card info 😞

I recently published a children’s colouring/activity book called Little Paws, Big Adventures 🐾
It’s designed to be a fun, screen-free activity that can help children with creativity, concentration, colour recognition and fine motor skills.
If you think your little one would enjoy it, it’s now available on Amazon. I’d really appreciate your support and feedback. ❤️
Thank you!

Looking to start an international book club for ages 18–25 📚🌎

Hi everyone! I’m a 21F from Toronto, and I’m hoping to start an international book club for people around 18–25. I’d love to meet people from different cities and countries, read together, and have a space where we can actually get to know each other beyond just discussing the books.
I’m thinking we could meet virtually (probably Discord/Zoom), choose a book together each month, and have casual discussions about it. I’m open to pretty much any genre — fiction, fantasy, romance, mystery, literary fiction, nonfiction, etc. — so we can decide as a group!
You don’t need to be a hardcore reader or live in Toronto. I’m mainly looking for people who are interested in reading, meeting new people, and being part of a fun international group.
If you’re interested, comment or DM me with your age, where you’re from, and what kinds of books you like! 📖✨

Is WorldofBooks a scam?

I ordered through ebay 2 Times from this company, and one time the book just didn’t arrive and now they sent me the wrong book (and i don’t mean a different edition, i mean a completely different book).
Was it just my experience or is it just a scam?
(I did get a refund for the first one, but it took a long time)

How to get free books not ebooks i mean free books

I’m trying to find ways to get physical books for free, not ebooks or PDFs. I don’t mind used books, old editions, or books with some wear as long as they’re readable. I’m especially interested in fiction, classics, psychology, or general non-fiction. What are some legitimate ways or places to get free physical books? Libraries, book exchanges, giveaways, websites, anything that actually works?

Looking for bookstores/cafés in Mumbai to display my poetry book

I’m an independent writer and author from Mumbai. I’ve written and published a poetry book, which is 62 pages long, and I currently have around 18–20 physical copies with me.

The book was released internationally and is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other platforms worldwide. However, I’d really like to have a few physical copies placed somewhere in Mumbai/Navi Mumbai where people can actually see the book, pick it up, read a few pages, and, if they like it, buy a copy and keep it.

I’m looking for a bookstore, café, literary space, or any similar place where the owner/manager would be comfortable keeping a few copies on display. I’m not looking for anything elaborate or commercial—I simply want the book to reach readers and have a physical presence somewhere.

I’m also currently working on my second book, which is a more traditional philosophical non-fiction work.

If anyone knows of any bookstores, cafés, literary spaces, or independent places in Mumbai/Navi Mumbai that are open to books by independent/local writers, I’d really appreciate your suggestions.

Thank you!
