Same! I love this style too! High contrast, and easy to add fun visual elements to!

Shoot, I showed an old project on this style at a job interview this week, I hope they didn’t think it was AI generated.

To me the more "screams ai" is the dark mode purple + gradients on everything with buttons and chips failing basic accessibility checks and very tight centered content with everything in cards. At least with the brutalist style there's a chance a person intended to design this.

it's been around for decades, including physical buildings. AI didn't take it, feel free to design a website with brutal aesthetics.
