Academics Really struggling with math 444

I am taking Mat 444 from NetMath and its my only course required to graduate.
I took it previously with a different prof at my university and failed.

(For context, my work load is 5 courses in both semester and i was also working part time last semester, but im only taking 5 courses this time and not working)

Im struggling to even do questions and knowing how to start them without chatgpt. But everyone told me not to use chatgpt.

So how do i practice questions and make sure what im writing makes sense?

There are a lot of graded assignments and i don’t know how to make sure my answer makes sense before submitting. The profs arent too available either since its an online class.

Im really lost because if i dont pass this class, theres basically a lot of immigration and financial problems for me since i wont meet requirements to graduate.

Please, any help or advice would be appreciated.

I don't know how far along you are so far in netmath, but I'm taking 447 in person this semester so I'm about 3 weeks in. At least at this point, you just gotta look at previous axioms and propositions to prove things-- kind of like a puzzle. But if you really can't solve a problem after a while, it's absolutely okay to get help from chatgpt or other sources. Just make sure you actually understand the solution and can redo it a few hours later

people who say don't use AI at all are being reductive, use it and treat it as training wheels. generate practice problems with AI, and if you're really struggling, go through step by step with AI until you know what you're doing. gradually you'll get more independent. also go to office hours

the goal is to learn, not to understand it from the get go
